I do think that most of them are polite now and just make a quick enquiry to how you are and have you eaten etc nothing at all like a few years ago, i don't really think asking the question "where are you going" (unless it was asked in a threatening manner) can be hassling someone, saying that i am not a woman and i know woman get more attention, but no matter where you go ie Spain. Portugal and worst of all Greece all enquire if you have eaten and if you would like to see the menu etc, 2 years ago in Rhodes was worse then anywhere in Icmeler has ever been, Marmaris is also still quite bad compared to Icmeler, we tend to just smile and politly say no thanks or say we have eaten, if they want to get upset by that then thats their problem. I do agree with previous poster that if someone has complained about the lads taking their shirts off and that closing bars down because of dancing is very sad, maybe the new mayor should be told that is the reason we come to Turkey-Icmeler because we get something different and i really think the bar restaurant staff go out of their way to give the tourists a good holiday, i get the impression that they really want you in their country enjoying yourselves unlike Spain Portugal Greece etc, who i don't really think can be bothered with us, i think we should really stop moaning about Icmeler, because it might be all the moans that is making the Mayor act this way and a brilliant resort is going to just be another run of the mill holiday destination.

yeah your right after all we all love icmeler and keep going back year after year
we need to focus on the positive aspects of icmeler and make the mayor see that there is nothing wrong with icmeler the way it is and that the tourists are quite happy

Unless he thinks the entertainment provided is generally of a poor standard (which in some cases is completely true) and by not allowing the bare chests etc the owner will cough up and encourage other types of entertainers so as to attract more custom.

That lad at Oscars springs to mind, he was podium dancing on a bin or fence post last year but it was quite late on when he was doing it.

Cant wait for this rears hols though

HI
I think one of the problems last year was the number of young Turkish boys dancing in the bars topless what I mean is 10 - 14 year olds this was going on in a few bars and there is a thread on here regarding this and also getting young girls up to join in dancing in an inproper way
This might have upset a few people

yeah i can understand why people think that would be inappropriate steve
they need to watch if they are going to get girls up as the tourists might not like it
especially the childrens parents
cause lets face it the turkish boys like the british girls (no offence)

I think some of the girls are also to blame. Last year there was a Russian girl in the bar we were in, and quite frankly her dress couldn't have been any shorter. I'm no prude, but you could see everything on display while she was dancing. There were also people taking pictures of her nearly non-existent hemline, so much so, she went and changed in the end.

I say keep the entertainment sensible..... (but ban Michael Jackson.... I think he has been done to death).

Rant over

yeah i can agree with that as some of the things that the girls wear are rather revealing
i think they just have to think about what they will be doing before they go out with that outfit on each night

Hmm!! I have to agree with you Jeffg, I would have helped him on his way in to the canal if I'd seen that! :D He sulked with us after we declined his persistent hassling, so we never went in, which is a shame going by the other posts, as the food and everything else sounds marvellous! Dreamboys were similar, we made the mistake of giving in to them, bill was wrong, food didn't arrive at same time, (although was lovely when we each got it in 15 min intervals  ), I don't like having to complain about bills, or service, but when they entice you in by offering free drinks etc, (which we don't expect anyway) then charge for them, and say they meant coffees, it's annoying and uncalled for, and not something I'm used to experiencing in Icmeler. Won't go there again. No problems at all anywhere else though.
