Ok, No worries Lynn, I must be gullible and too trusting, you would not be the first one to say so. No offence meant, we are all different. I still feel it's sad

Please answer yes to the question has anyone asked you to carry something for them", this makes sure what you are carrying is OK and you will only be delayed by 20 minutes why everything is checked out, it happened to me when I was asked by my company to take an item of computer equipment as a spare from France to the UK, when I am asked now my answer is NO, courier it.

your choice. i would take something to save somebody some money. I would obviously make sure it worked and had not been opened or tampered with in any way.

And i have had my case checked too.....

Erik bless, we are singing from the same hymn sheet, i cannot think the worst of anyone and the good thoughts and feelings I have had from members on here have been invaluable. I was somewhat led to believe I would have a huge amount of money paid into my bank just before we came to Icmeler, this all went pear shaped, yet a member I have never met, could not do enough to help. Thanks everyone :D

In the original post I had my quotes mixed up first line should have been the quote the second line what I typed, fingers were not working I guess. Anyway all I was trying to say is if carrying anything for anyone just be careful and declare it, didn't mean to sound unhelpful or harsh if thats the way it came across.

Maybe that was partly my fault feefee, because I said to her to ask in the forum, as a couple of people had asked the week before about taking things over

laptop

Postby kkatea » 15 Sep 2008 21:13

Hi everyone thanks for all your comments, did not reply straight away as I have been working and computer has been playing up. I have been trying to find put about posting the laptop and have been told it is not guaranteed to get there. I promised a laptop to someone I have known for the last 3 years and cannot get back over until May next year.

Dont know if this is true but i was told that after 3 months, laptops work in the same way as mobile phones...they are locked, so if this is correct it would be a waste of time taking one there

When our friend was working in a Hotel a few years ago, he gave a returning guest the money to buy a laptop from Curry's. Still works perfectly now.

laptop

Postby taz » 01 Oct 2008 21:49

Surely if this "member" wanted a laptop so badly why do the not buy one in Marmaris :?:

They are not that much more expensive than in the UK.

I am will the others on this, yes it's okay to bring little things out to help people out that can go in your suitcase. Myself and the other girls in the office have had many gifts, ie, peanut butter, marmite, swim nappies, chocholate but to carry a laptop is a responsibility. Plus going through security you have to scan it separately and some customs do make you turn it on and off to ensure that is does work.
