mine would be the memory of my wife and i on the first night of our first weeks holiday in icmeler sat in the beutiful surroundings of the "Waterfall" reserant with the turtle and ducks swimming around the little pool, enjoying one of the best meals we had. Absolutley wonderfull hope to go again 16th may, but when we walked passed the little animal pen just outside with the rabbit's, guinea pigs, duck's etc and i told her she had to choose which she wanted for her dinner we nearly didnt go in. Only joking

Always bring back a bag of saffron, it costs a fortune here, and also some other spices.

Hmmm perhaps Geovil is having one of those "i know it when I see it" moments - I get them all the time!!

Just thought of another thing I like to bring back - figs rolled in nuts - they're delicious, but they only seem to be available early in the season.

Does anyone know what they're called?

I can never remember! You can get them at shops that sell Turkish delight, teas etc. They come in what I can only describe as a shallow wooden punnet and covered in cellophane. Some are rolled in pistachio nuts, some in almonds.... Delicious!

Alcohol units

Postby geovil » 29 Mar 2008 14:34

And don't forget the recommended No of alcohol units you are allowed per week is 24 for men and 14 for ladies so thats 12 pints of Efes a week for men 14 halves for the ladies 24 or 14 single spirits a week and don't forget this is the Governments recommendations so it must be true.

Hi Hans.

Just to let you know, I'm not sure if it's the same one, but they do sell some of the same brand juices as in turkey, in Asda. I bought some Cherry juice, for my Racki and it was the exact same brand. You get it in the world food section.

I had forgotten about the peanuts coated with honey and sesame seeds, always buy a load on the market, they are the muts nuts! They call them Viagra nuts for some strange reason (I think it's the honey they say it has that effect)
