I have to agree with Tony,I think the meals are highly overpriced.
Sunday lunch in two seperate restaurents was 20YTL = £8-33,
I can get a better Sunday Lunch in my local for £3-50.

All Steak meals were being charged at over 20YTL a lot more expensive than I pay in my home town.

Cocktails in my opinion are highly overpriced along with the price of coke and a cup of coffee.
I was charged often 3.5YTL =£1-45 for an ordinary cup of coffee and
4YTL for a capachino.
We went in one bar were the drinks list didnt display any prices, this was the No Name Bar we had small cokes each, and I swear that by the time the ice had melted we finished up with more water than coke the coke was served in the smallest glass imagineable, this is one bar I wont use again.

I dont want owt for nowt but do think that some of the prices being charged are way over the top.

I would suggest watch your priceing system guys or the newcomers wont return.

I work for a big name pub restaurant chain here and I kept telling them that its only £5.95 for an 8oz rump or bacon and cheese burger and various other stuff. The coffee was way over priced. It has gone up and up the last few years.Only sugar buffaloes was really cheap. But I found they were trying to over price the bags as well.I had a real radley bag with me and I couldn't believe what they were trying to charge for fakes which didn't look anything like real ones except for the Little dog which you can buy on an auction site not far from here anyway.Still love icmeler anyway!!!!

good
NEFES PEDE -Brilliant for traditional turkish quisine and a late night pede. Cheapest you'll eat in Icmeler!

MANDALIN -Excellent meals in a great atmosphere.

WAYSIDE -Excellent meals 2nd to none anywhere. A wee bit more expensive but worth every penny.

not good
SWEET BROTHERS - after bumming them up last year, it disappoints me to say we had a lousy meal there, overcooked and served warm.

HARMONY -Yes we all know it's a bit more expensive but when they don't have half the stuff on the menu it's a bit limited.

Yes agree about the Mandalin, finally tried it this year and the meal was lovely.

Titanic and Champagne was also good meals.

Harys was my bone of contention this year, had a lovely first night meal there and raved about it for 2 weeks then went back on the last night, had the same meal and it wasn't as nice :(

Richards place was fantastic to eat, the T-bone set menu was a great price, Vinces restaurant had different deals every day and was very nice. Pop in I ate there 3 times and loved it every time. The dream 3 bells is fantastic to eat. I also ate at the amor which was nice and the dreamboy on the canal. I also ate Mr Can thats on the way to the old village it was really really nice and good priced.
The best rolled up kebabs I've had has got to be from the place across the road from My Baby restaurant, next door to the internet place, he's make them anyway you want them.
The Fish and chip shop was really nice and a good price too.
The Champion I ate there it was ok and it was cheap but I could live with not eating there again.
oh yeah I also got a pizza from pizza tomato and it was one of the best pizza's I'd had in turkey.
I ate at the waterfall after loads of people told me it was really nice and I have to say I didnt really enjoy my food.

The Harmony Bar I ate there a few times now my food was really really nice but it is overpriced always has been.

My sister ate at Bharah pizza in the old village alot of times and says the food was really nice, all the locals eat there and its not over priced

The first thing i noticed this visit was the number of wrist band on, AI.
2nd a lot more eating and watering holes, trying to get there share of business, and a lot of empty seats. All day breakfast was offered at most at just a £1, a lost leader to entice you back for a evening meal. Menu s are given, and are priced, most i thought were fair, given the poorer than last years exchange rate.
We ate most nights at the Florida, jacks specials were priced at 20ytl. pitta bread and dips, soup, and a choice of main course, steaks, chicken, sea bass, or lamb, plus a glass of wine complete, The music here was relaxed and volume low, didnt have to SHOUT our conversations while eating, later after 10pm 60, 70, 80s. again not blowing your brains out, unlike the other side of the road where Dreamboys seemed to have a competition on to see if they could make themselves heard in the uk.
The true holiday season is 5 months, in this time a living is to be made, and a little put away for the next years refurbishments, so that we may enjoy our icmeler once again. I could maybe get a pub meal here at home cheaper, but not the selection, and certainly not the surrounding, and friendly welcome.

Best meals: Love Boat, excellent food, wonderfully presented.
Venice, love all their food, well priced.

Worst meal: Unfortunately it was one of my favourite places the
Deniz Kapisi. The food was SO salty I couldn't eat it
and the chips looked like they had been left over from lunch
and fried up again, very disappointing!

Hopefully this was just a bad day/night

Our best meal by far was The Love Boat. Everyone had the Love Boat Special Soup - best in the world.

Dream 3 Bells, wonderful as ever. I had Spag Bol which I wouldn't normally choose on holiday, but it was one of the best I've ever had. Also had fillet steak one night.

The Chip Shop was very good. Had pie & peas, very tasty.

Majestic (canal) had chinese - excellent.

Taj Mahal - was good, but we all said not as good as last year - may have been on an off night.

Chef - went 3 times, great.

Harmony bar. We all enjoyed our food, but said it was way over priced, as were the drinks. Don't suppose we should complain much as the show is free.

Three Bells - brilliant Sunday lunch (did both the Sundays).

Most lunch times we had a kebab from Tasty Spot - best ever.

The one and only bad meal was at a place across from the school called The Paradise - looked like a transport cafe, food awful. Ate there near towards the end of our hol and Mark was quite ill for over a week and is still not right now. Although I must say that it does not take much to give him a dodgy stomach, but in 16 visits to Icmeler it has never happened before. Will stick to the tried, tested and recommended in future.

Ozzy's restaurant

Postby geovil » 08 Nov 2007 13:05

Have not seen any comments for Ozzy's restaurant in the old village when we were there in 2005 found the meals and service were excellent does anyone know if it is still there it was at the crossroads in the old village.we went to Altinkum this year it was more expensive than 2005 in Icmeler but what made up for it was the taxi service the restaurants laid on for you,we even used one bar for more than 2 nights and when we were leaving he laid on a taxi which he paid for.

Geovil

I was at Ozzys in October 2006 on about 4 occasions and it was excellent. Went again in May 2007 and found the food to be a bit disappointing. The rstaurant opposite Ozzys and up to the left was fabulous, sorry but cant remember the name

I can't beleive nobody on here has mentioned Jimmy's Okimo (near the Joy Munamar Hotel).

It is the best restaurant we have visited in Turkey. The Steaks are always spoton, The Prawn Cocktails to die for, and the chips are good old fashioned chips like my Gran used to make, mmmmm.

Others that stand out for me are Charlies Place, Chef, and Erdem Cafe on the beach front, do the best kebab lunches, and are cheap as chips.
