H4U/Onur have a limit of 32kg per case.
So if you really are going to take the full allowance for 3 people in 2 cases, you should check they are evenly spread.

Dalaman Airport

Postby Hi-Fi » 05 May 2007 23:10

We were told that the allowance couldn't be shared so it 's best to check with your airline. We flew back from Dalaman yesterday and the food courts are much better but watch out for the prices - a cup of coke and a cup of tea will set you back 13.25 Lira! At the gate a can of coke was 7.5 Lira.

We came back from Icmeler on April the 20th and both of our cases were over waight and we were not charged, this was flying with onurair. I had herd that resoning about fuel verses waight before Shaz but i don't hold with that as they do not waigh each indevidual that gets on the plain so how do they caculate that plus lets be honest you are working of a set of kitchen scales and in the case of dalaman airport hightec digital scales so some commen sence has to be used.

I hate the feeling when you leave the airport here. It's really nice looking. Then you land. Like last year we thought the place was going to be rubbish because the airport didn't look very good. Turn's out it was a great holiday though :D

I really have to try to put a cap on this.

The new terminal against the old, is like comparing black & white films on VHS to modern films on DVD's and like a Fiat Panda to a Jaguar. They do the same thing, but so much better.
The airport will never be as good as your holiday (or as cheap).
The drinks in Newcastle Airport are a lot more than in my local and the food is much more than my local takeaway. So why should it be different in Turkey.
So, let's stop slagging the only bad part of our Turkish holiday (the prices in the airport) and concentrate on why we are there (because we love it!).
I love the new Dalaman Terminal!

Dalaman Airport

Couldn't agree more! The airport is a tiny part of a great holiday - just thought it would be nice to warn everyone - can't wait to get back.

Dalaman Airport

Postby Howard » 13 Aug 2007 17:24

Watch out on your return through Dalaman. It is very expensive as you are a cptive audience. It cost around £4 for a cup of tea and water cost £2 for a bottle of water. Try to take some refreshments with you when you are leaving especially if you have children.

Looking forward to the airport madness that every destination has.
Captive audience... true! High prices... true! But that is as much a part of belfast city airport as Im sure it will be in dalaman.

Random questions. I hate banging on about this but I am disabled. I can walk very slowly and painfully with a crutch.

Are there disabled toilets available?
Are any wheelchairs available to make transfer inside the airport a little easier and a hundred times quicker?
Are lifts available to use instead of escalators?

I would apreciate any answers you can offer as it would put my mind at ease. Then I can just get on and ejoy my hols like anyone else!
Many thanks

One year my mum fell and broke her ribs-when we got to Dalaman, they provided a wheelchair and taken through straight away.

Sure everything will be fine sis

Hi andiescottie. I had the misfortune to need a wheelchair on returning home via Dalaman. Couldn't praise them enough. You should be fast tracked through all the bottlenecks. Just be sure you make the cabin staff aware of your need for a wheelchair during the flight. They should radio ahead to advise Dalaman of your requirements. My limited experience of Turkish people is that I found them to be incredibly caring, gentle and sympathetic to anyone with disabilities.
BTW I agree with everyone's comments about the prices at Dalaman. Dont buy water when you arrive. The drivers of the transfer coaches will sell you bottles at a fraction of the cost.
Relax and enjoy andie

excess baggage

Postby doublemorgans » 15 Aug 2007 09:39

we were flying with 1st choice in june and were charged £7 per kilo at dalaman, grand total of £49. had to run along to the cash machine at other side of check-in in ma flip flops to lift the cash.
noticed that lot of people had large pieces of hand luggage to take onboard as well as suitcases but i just had my fake chloe handbag. so next year i will be buying holdall at the market and taking all my goodies home as hand luggage. friend also bought fish hook type weighing scales from argos for about a fiver to take with her so she wont get caught out.
