Gene that looks just about right to me. As preveously said, it depends on what you do and where you go. :D

Ha ha Gene .... It's not being tight or having deep pockets, it's what you and the other half enjoy so go for it!

Me and Mrs G also frequent the Buffalo Bar often on an evening, cos Mrs G (Long Blonde Hair and Gorgeous) loves to sing and was up loads in July and also back in September/October gone for our 2nd visit of the year (Greedy, but we had to!) ... The only problem last time we were there in September was a couple from Sweden and Denmark, who were good singers ... He was good, but she was like a Pro and put Mrs G right off!

Anyway, I digress .... Even though we're all inc in June we're taking around £2k hopefully, as Mrs G likes shopping, I want plenty of Beer away from the Hotel and similar to Mansy if we don't spend much then it's plenty to use as a head start for our September holiday!! ... Simples!

The bar that Gene refers to is the BUFFALO bar. The draught EFES last year towards the end of the season was £1 and slightly more during the season. This bar is usually one of the cheapest in resort.

the government has increased drinks tax again this year so personally I would expect the BUFFALO to charge between 4 and 5 lira a pint of draught EFES. The bar just along from there, TIN TINS, is currently selling EFES for 5.5 lira

Hi Daisysun, the Buffalo is a regular haunt for me and Mrs G (she's a Singer and the Karaoke is good!) ... If you're at the square and cross over to the ICR Travel Office on your left and walk on past Tandoori Sizzler to the Scotia Bar (Good Pub too!) .. Carry on straight ahead and you'll come to a Road where you turn left and the Buffalo Bar is down on your right hand side.

Hope this makes sense and see you in there 20/6 for our 2 weeks!

Hi Dodomo

Bingo is pretty scarce as Turkey is an Islamic country and gambling is forbidden.

I'm loving the directions to places.
They're not going to mean much until we're in icmeler but it's good to know if I can find free wifi I can log on and get directions.

Last time we visited icmeler was the last week of the season so the place was very quiet and we were in one of the litera hotels. All inclusive but the food was dire in the hotel. Thankfully we found a couple of nice places still open. Can't wait though to try places this year.

One question though. How do we know we're in the old part of resort? We're stopping in the alvaro this time round

From the Alvaro, head up towards the main drag (the road where the Tansas supermarket is) - cross over and head up towards the back of the resort - if you head towards the mosque on your left hand side, the real "old village" is around that area. Hope that makes some kind of sense...

Personally I loathe karaoke so do not go to Buffalo in the evening. have been a few times during the day and just did not like it at all, cant put my finger on why. many others do like this bar, so each to their own.

I go to Tin Tins many times on holiday and just like the general atmosphere of the place. Their food is also very good

Bingo in Turkey

It has nothing to do with Turkey being Islamic and they dont gamble as there are betting shops all over the place, some for football and others for horse racing

Bingo in bars cannot be tracked for taxes hence the reason the tax mad does not allow it

I know the Rush bar in Icmeler has bingo on now but not for money   also Portofino in Marmaris

Thanks for the correction JT.

I've not noticed the betting shops before. Might come in handy as I'm there during the World Cup.

Think there's one just along from Tansas as you walk towards the Wayside.
