Hi Toonarmybarmy

I've worked with exchange rates since 2001 when the Lira was in Millions, and I've not seen the rate this good before.

Expect its an affect of the situation in Syria.

Since 2002 the rate has never been so good.

I go for 8 nights on the 30th September, if it is the same rate then I think I will be tempted to change some more money towards next years holiday, I don't know if it will go much higher and if the Syria issue is resolved maybe it will start to come down.

Yes Chezza I think that is the reason as well. Possibly because Parliament voted against action. What ever the reason It's good for Icmeler and great for us!

Exchange rate was 3.17 in the shop under ICR this morning, went in tonight and it had dropped slightly to 3.13 x

My sister is just back from Marmaris. As the rate is soooo good, , I asked her to bring me back a couple of hundred quid for next year. This year I think we got around 2.8 in May

I think the best I have seen before was 2.92 about 10 years ago

Got 3.21 with my nationwide plus debit card last night at the cash point over the road to the avlu 1 apartments. With that card you get the interbank rate which is about 7 lira more than restaurants for £100 ..happy days
