do you think the exchange rate is encouraging them to be greedy and increase prices? One of the things that attracted me to choose Turkey for a holiday was the exchange rate, if the prices go up in the resorts then for me there is no attraction in eating out every night like I was planning to.

The exchange rate has gone up by 10% since i was there last year, so a price increase of 10--15 % I could live with, bu t the increase seems to be nearer the 70% mark. In general around the resort the prices have gone up slightly, but this price increase makes this probably amongst the most expensive restaurants in Icmeler

its a shame as tandoori sizzler was one of the most popular restaurants in icmeler last year
maybe they need to re-think their prices as yes this does make it one of the most expensive restaurants in icmeler now

We have eaten at the Sizzler a few times and have been disappointed, so on what we have been reading lately, we will definitely give it a miss. I agree the Taj Mahal in Marmaris produces a lovely curry and you get a decent bottle of wine with the set meal. Never had a bad meal here. The Sizzler seems to be outpricing itself. There are many good restaurants in Icmeler, including the Lighthouse which we go to quite a lot, never had a bad meal there.

We tried the Tandoori Sizzler last year and found the Indian food just ok, we much prefer the Taj Mahal but each to their own. :)

Last year we ate at the Sizzler at least four times and loved the food and the service. Hakan and Levent and the team were excellent. We will certainly go and try it this year. But like everyone we have a budget....hopefully they will still be within ours!

We were there in May, I had a chicken shish and the 3 girls in the party had a set Chinese meal which included one of every starter (the table was hardly big enough), 2 drinks apiece and the daughter had ice-cream. All meals were A1 and the bill came to about 140TL, don't think thats an increase of 70% since last year and we'll certainly be back in September.

The free brekkie went down well as well.

The 70%plus increase is based on the prices last year and what I think they cost this year. Last year set menu was only £19.75 which was a starter, and a main course chicken dish. This year a typical starter was around 12 lira and a main course chicken dish is 24.50 lira giving a cost of around 36.50 lira. I do not know if the chicken dish included rice etc or not although I would think it would.

19.75 lira increased to 36.50 lira is a pretty big increase

It would have been much better to offer a free breakfast after you've eaten a meal there. They would have already received the payment for the meal before offering the freebie. The way it is now we would not want the breakfasts and we are still paying more for the meal to subsidise others' free breakfasts. Feeling disappointed as we were really looking forward to going to the Sizzler. With so many other excellent restaurants around I'm sure they're going to regret the changes as they were always full last year.

This is not the case according to a lot of people who use this restaurant on another forum. They make it from fresh in restaurant and actually deliver to other curry places in Marmaris :)

Think it was JT who mentioned before that it was all made in a factory and delivered, sure there was a pic of the van delivering.

Sorry if I'm wrong about this John

Why didn't you go for the set Chinese Shuggy, you'd get a curry and a starter for less than that.
