Personally I would never go AI, but its the individual's preference. Our best friend in Icmeler told us many years ago to avoid it, as the food quality is always second grade. Eating out in Icmeler is excellent, therefore self catering is best for us.

until last year had never gone ai and then was only because of free upgrade so used it for odd snack and drinks during the day and ate out at night, and would do it again dependant on price

We prefer not to be in the middle of the resort, our favourite hotel is between Icmeler and Marmaris,AI works for us as there are no restaurants or bars close by .Coffee and soft drinks, make it worthwhile for us.Our next holiday this year is SC so will see how that works out in comparison.

Last 4 times to Icmeler have been A I and as a couple with dicky tummies, it's been a godsend, as we haven't suffered at all with bad food or upset stomachs for the last 4 years.

Back at the Aqua again this year in late August for 2 weeks - has always been good for food, service and facilities. The staff are always very friendly and we work hard to enjoy ourselves - boat trips, days out, a show or two for evening entertainment, so the resort gets some cash from us apart from our hotel.

Self employed at home, and business life is hectic, that's why two weeks in Icmeler is so relaxing, so we think the A I is a bit of a treat for us both, no kids to worry about now, and the grandchildren (7 lads between 7 yrs and 4 months old) won't be old enough for us to take away by ourselves for a few years yet with travelling and forces parents all over the world.

We get damn good value from hot, cold and juices during the days, and although my wife doesn't drink, the Efes do disappear a bit at night time.

A number of people have said that they would never go AI as they prefer to eat out at night. Well that's fair enough, but what about through the day?
As I said in an earlier post, it works out for us this year (July 19th for 2 weeks) at £12 per day more than the cheapest Self Catering in the brochure.
I'm sure most people could make that worthwhile and still eat out every night!
