I had one of these, didn't work for me, but then not much does, I blister from mossies and ants and the whole of my arm swelled up when I got the bee sting!

(Might work on the Turkish boys though!)

I am mighty glad I don't suffer from the mossies. I don't know whether it's the dry skin from my psoraisis or just the wrong type of blood they smell, but when all around are being eaten alive, they never so much as come near me 8)

Shame the same can't be said for bees and wasps, who seem to be able to smell my fear

We have one of these and it works well

Last got stung on my head a few years ago in August on the jeep safari and before I new it the driver took a hand full of dirt added water to it and rubbed the sting area extremely hard, the pain had gone in 15 minutes but the bump remained for about two weeks.

For those who have never been stung before or have children who have never been stung before watch them for 15-30 minutes for any allergic reaction, if they go into shock get them to or call a doctor quickly.

We have been to Icmeler in September on 4 occassions and we have only ever been stung by treading on a dead or dying bee while walking in bare feet around the pool or on the beach so be careful where you place your feet.

Just happened across this thread, I hate wasps but find that the best remedy for a wasp or bee sting is fresh aloe vera snapped in half and rub the fleshy area on the sting, sounds wierd but the pain goes almost immediately. Luckily we have an aloe vera plant in the house and when I got stung on the neck by a bee, I quickly went in and rubbed some on the sting area - voila - pain gone and no bump.

It truly is an amazing plant, works on sunburn too. Do they grow wild in Icmeler as I know they do in Crete and get quite big?

Just as an addition, are there many wasps around Grand Aquarium (as originally asked by OP)?
I've heard good and bad views on this place as it's on the outskirts.

We saw quite a few wasps last year, and although they are scary looking things compared to our wasps in the uk they weren't any bother.
They just seemed to be going from one place to another, doing what ever wasps do!
We had a wasp nest to the left of our room in the roof, and only had one come in.
As my mum always said, leave them alone and they'll leave you alone :-)
