This is a great book, I read it whilst in Icmeler last September. I'd recommend it.

If you like a bit of supernatural, Kelley Armstrong is brilliant. I'm onto book 7 of the Women of the Otherworld Series, really great stories about vampires, werewolves, witches, sorcerers, necromancers and other associated otherworld characters. The stories lead on, but can be read in isolation, each one is narrated by a different character, the first 2 by the only female werewolf, next 2 by a witch etc. Difficult to put an accurate description but they really are a "can't put them down" read.

Thanks for all the recommendations

I think I've got every James Patterson books, the same with Mo Hayder and The Help, have also The Girl with the Dragon Tatooo trilogy (fantastic), will speak to my daughter though about Kelly Armstrong as I'm sure she'll have the books as she loves that genre.

For some reason never been a Stephen King fan, don't know why....

Will check out Lesley Pearce & Robert Goddard, Last Light is now added to my Amazon basket which is now bulging!

One author I forgot to recommend is the fabulous Conn Iggulden, any of his books will have you wanting to buy and read the next.

Thanks!

Re Kindles, just doesn't feel like reading to me, it's also more electronics, I work on a computer all day and have a tablet at home, by the end of the day I need want something non electronic for my eyes, physically holding a book with it's weight and the progress through the pages feels great to me and I love adding new ones to my ever growing library...

Both my wife and daughter are addicted to anything by Karen Rose. In fact they've just finished reading their way through her entire collection. They just can't get enough.
For me it's anything that can make me laugh out loud.

I would recommend any of the books by Linwood Barclay - especially No Time for Goodbye, and also Too Close To Home. Both fantastic thrillers that I read in 2 days straight!! I literally could not put either of those books down, and I'm not even a thriller reader usually!

Enjoy :)

The kite Runner is fantastic but quite disturbing so ok if you want to be disturbed on holiday.Laugh out loud is The Tent The Bucket and Me by Emma Kennedy and I had to apologise for laughing and snorting and crying to the people on the sunbeds around me. Just bought a replacement copy from Amazon as lost my last one cos everybody wanted to read it and dont know where it ended up.The whole series by Jean M. Auel first one The clan of the Cave bear, based in Neanderthal times.Rebecca Wells Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya sisterhood.Too many books I have loved but we are all different! :D

Some great ideas here!

I too, prefer reading a "book" as opposed to a kindle - I think it's a great idea, however, down on the beach it doesn't matter if a real book gets wet or gets sand on it etc...

I've just been given a load of rom com books from a work colleague so will go through those and see what takes my fancy.

Last year I read "A place called Here" by Cecelia Aherne - it was just plain strange ? I had to continue reading it to find out what happened next... Once I must have been thinking about the plot so much that I fell asleep in the sun and dreamt about the characters in the book... Spooked! The book is about "about finding out where lost things go" (i.e. lost socks etc)....

If you like Sophie Kinsella - she also wrote "Remember Me" - that's a nice rom-com easy to read and can't put down book too :-)

One of my absolute favourites for holiday reading is Diana Gabaldon's The Outlander series (with paperback). Exciting story and have read all 7 books so far and can't wait for her 8th book to be released. Have actually read many of these at Icmeler beach and will take some older ones with me again ( so many twists in the plot that you can read them many times and won't get bored)!

The new Sophie Kinsella book I've got your Number.

I came across a blog written by a husband & wife who after serving 47 years between them in the Police decided to write DI Jack Dylan series of Crime books. The first Deadly Focus by RC Bridgestock & second book Consequences are real page turners. My daughter bought these crime book and she too enjoyed them.....makes a change from Chic
Lit
