Im reasonable new to Icmeler (only 3 years)
I never knew there was a dog rescue and that you could offer your help to walk the dogs.

My daughter would love to do this too.

Where do you go to contact someone to help out?

I think this is great as often some forget about the poor wee dogs/cats that are left to find their own way.

Im only a new member to the site and still finding my way about but i think its great.
Well done!
:)

Hi Pauline, If you follow the dry canal up the old village right to the back, you will come to Tommys Bar, ( bout 30 min walk ) turn left there and follow the road up another 10 mins or so and you will see a big Pinar factory on your left, then the dogs home on the left.

Wear old clothes tho as the dogs smell and are excited to see people  It's only been there 2 years or so, but there doing such a great job there, which is why we are helping them out by taking leftovers for there table top sales etc :D

Maybe a stupid question but hey I'm from Holland, by leftovers you mean the half empty shampoo bottles etc. or only the complete ones ?
Can I also bring used puppie collars and leads or only new ones ?

 behave JT

There NOT going to wash the mutts with them or spray your left over deoderant under there arms, anything you wish to leave will be sold at the local market or on table top sales around Icmeler. :D

Yes moon you can bring any puppie / doggie stuff also, and drop it at ICR office or the Robin Hood Restaurant :D

Thanks Collette if the mobile phones are not acceptable, I would be willing to put a bottle of Russian Standard Vodka up for a raffle, I know John would buy a few tickets for this prize.
John just tasted the Russian Standard platinum and it is gorgeous.

they may have had a problem with there teeth, and they might have been a bit hard for them to chew.

But Jan assures me they are grateful for anything we can give them this year :D

Hi, i took quite alot of doggy stuff last year, flea collars chews etc. We were staying the Selen 2 and a beautiful little black puppy which looked like a laborador appeared. As usual it got all the tourists fussing over it which is the main aim during the holiday season. When i had a look at it, it had the biggest tick i have seen in its ear, it must have been very painful. Luckily i had brought flea/tick stuff over with me, so with the help of another two holidaymakers i removed it with tweezers, the poor thing was squealing, but probably very relieved. I also put a flea collar on it which would last for 6 months. I would say though that ticks can carry Lyme Disease, so be very careful when handling the strays. The flea collars/chews, collars and leads etc can be bought in any Pound shop, so if you can buy a few and hand them into the office, it'll make a dog very happy....

Lots of dogs here including well looked after ones have very large ticks and usually quite a few.

Tick drops are expensive at usually 70 lira a go.
