Don't know whether I'm thick but I don't understand the above quote. I was just commenting on the programme I saw on the tv and the warning that was given about small little packages of powder that can be hidden inside things. I wasn't in any way suggesting that anyone was doing anything they shouldn't, just that it can happen and we need to be aware of this, which is why the programme was on the telly. I was also supporting others who would feel wary of taking something into another country for someone they don't know, as I would feel the same.

Hope the parcel gets there in time. Pity parcels don't travel as quickly as the newspapers do, you wouldn't have a problem then!

Totally see your point dragon, and I would be completely wary of someone asking me to take something like this. There would be no way of concealing anything in what I want to send. Thanks everyone for your advice on the postal system. And yes lynnjenny, if I had thought about it sooner then I prob would've found someone willing to do it...never mind, good things come to those who wait! :)

The point was Dragon as you so rightly pointed out about smuggling drugs is I don't take drugs nor sell them and it was me that arranged for the Teddy to be shipped back to the UK, but I do really like a glass of Nemiroff vodka an the bottle shape is unmistakeable

well,im quite suprised how many people would be willing to take a package to a foreign country for someone they have never met, also with it being their first post aswell!

although the original poster is probably 100% legite, its just not worth the risk. i wasnt trying to upset anyone on here, especially the original poster, just my opinion, after all thats what forums are all about.

drugs can be smuggled in all sorts of ways and forms.did you know they can even be inpregnated into clothing? could you tell the difference between 1 item of clothing that has been inpregnated and 1 which hasnt? i certainly couldnt .

i wonder how many british citizens are currently facing 20-30 years in prison in a foreign country for doing a stranger a 'favour' and what they would have to say on this post if it was possible for them to do so.

as i originally said ,i certainly wouldnt, and for anyone who did ,its a possibility it could well end up ruining your life.

Ian&jo are definitely correct.

If the original poster had been known on here for a while then it would be different and normally her post would not even have been seen by anyone as I would have deleted and banned the person for making a first post like that.

As it was replied to before I woke up then I thought I would let it go and see what type of discussion it generated.

I am glad I did now as it is always good to see everyones view on things.

If btw the original poster does not get kind of involved in any forum discussion (no offence meant) in the next few weeks or so then the account will be closed and deleted.

To be honest, I did not realise that making my post would cause so much controversy...i have been observing this forum for a few months now and just never got round to registering. But then when I thought maybe someone could help on here I thought on to join. I never realised that my first post was offensive to the point of being potentially deleted. I guess i misinterpreted the friendliness that seemed so apparent on here. I may well not comment on everything i read JT, so if you feel the need to delete my account please go ahead and do so. My intention was never to create negative opinion.

Don't feel that your posting was offensive, because it wasn't. Its just these days we have to be so careful about taking things through airports for other people.I think that what is meant about deleting your account was that if you made no other postings at all it could "look" as if it was dodgy, even if you were completely innocent and I can understand that.

Don't let it put you off as this is a very friendly and helpful forum. I've only been posting for a few months but I've been using the forum for a long time. You haven't misinterpreted the friendliness of the forum but often there is a full discussion on a post and there will always be some positives and some negatives.

There are some members on here that are quick witted and often their comments as well as being informative are hilarious. It would be such a shame if you missed out as what we all have in common is our love of icmeler. Have a look at the post "now the toilet wheel has been discovered" and have a laugh.
