Same thing happened to us! The restaurant is a nice setting but personally I think there are much better places to eat. My meal was ok but nothing to shout about.

have to agree with Chris on the Wayside, it is fab, quite small, no loud music, the food is out of this world, and the staff Hamdi and Oskam are fantastic, they used to work in the Loveboat then opened their own place here, cant speak highly enough of the place

Well thats sorted that out at least! Thats the kerem out of the window then.
Like the sound of the wayside?
Cant believe they can get away with doing that on a regular basis, something should be done about it, its not like its just the once and a genuine mistake is it??

hi tipsy,

you'll find loads of nice eating places in icmeler. one of our favourites is Meyzen which is on the road heading up to the old village, just past Romance restaurant and babadan apartments. low key background music, dining inside or out in the garden with the moon and stars shining above...bliss. the Wayside is also very good.

shame to read the comments about Kerem. we've never tried it, but was really looking forward to giving it a bash this year....not so sure now. if only they knew the damage they were doing to their reputation by forcing cheese rolls down peoples throats

A thumbs up from me as well about the Meyzen. beautiful setting especially sitting in the garden area on a warm evening. excellent food and very well priced. No dancing waiters or loud music just excelent food and a great setting. I rarely hear people mention this restaurant but it is well worth a visit

Yeah the Meyzen is good, I didn't eat there last year but have eaten there in the past, last year when I was walking past I noticed they had a chap playing gentle music on an accoustic guitar .

Another vote for the wayside. its lovely, no loud music, small and intimate, staff lovely and food gorgeous. when we have been in icmeler we have always eaten here the most during the holiday.... will definitely try the meyzen too if it is quiet etc

The Meyzen had music on most times I have been there but it is very gentle stuff, a guy playing an acoustic guitar another night a singer with a guy playing sax. Makes for a great atmosphre

Where is the Meyzen?
It was on my list last October but we never found it.
We were there from 12th October and a few places had already closed for the winter.

The Meyzen sounds brillliant too.
Call me thick...no....not really, but where, or what, is Tansas that you refer to? It keeps cropping up, often when giving directions to places.
We're staying in the Bahar apartments, so I really hope we can find all these wonderful places to go.
We're gonna be looking for some sanctury from the football whilst the world cup is in its last 2 weeks.
Football really isnt my thing, sorry, im sure Im not alone.

Tipsy, my vote for a quiet traditional restaurant with traditional, home cooked food has to be the Selam. Reasonably priced too and warm turkish hospitality! The food is cooked to order and they've a lovely seating area where you can relax after your meal. It's on a tree lined side street opposite Tansas and it really is a little oasis.
The Wayside is lovely but more expensive and the setting isn't as nice IMHO
