Your first day??

Postby Eatock08 » 29 Jan 2009 15:09

Things are a bit quiet on the forum for my liking so I would like to know is how will you be spending your first few hours in Icmeler this year?

We land in the afternoon so hopefully be at our hotel for 5ish so our first port of call after unpacking and having a shower etc is probably the Venice for a nice meal and good entertainment whist having a few effes/cocktails :P

Your First Day

Postby janetbytheloch » 29 Jan 2009 16:15

Hi Alison we usually arrive around 5 am and OH goes to bed. I ususally unpack then pour myself a wee duty free G&T and sit on the balcony waiting for the sun to come up. I love watching the apartments come to life as the staff start their day. The heat even at that time of the morning is absolutely glorious. (I usually fall asleep on the sunbed in the middle of the afternoon but it is worth it.

Usually we arrive late evening. We usually put the cases in the room and head straight to the bar for a snack and a few efes, then vodka. Unpack the following morning, but if I arrive during the day, I unpack straight away and then the above

We usually arrive in the afternoon, so we (I) unpack OH's case and fill the wardrobe up, leave my case and go out to meet old friends. Usually first stop is Chill Bar to see Gail, then if I can get Margo away from there we have a walk around to see the other people we have made friends with over the years, then back to change and shower ready for our meal and entertainment, maybe at Dream 3 Bells or the Majestic

Think we will arrive at apartments about 4/5 am so will probably put the little ones to bed for a couple of hours, get up have breakfast and relax by the pool. Then the fun begins we can do WHATEVER we like, we will have 3 weeks to fill with no clocks ticking. That's the freedom of holidays in Icmeler, you can do what you want WHEN you want. :D

We arrive about 7.30pm, My wife starts the normal unpacking helped by our daughters while I build the electric fan and unpack the contents of the holdall we leave every year in the apartments basement.

Once completed (About 30mins) it's straight to the apartments bar for a few ice cold Efes and a catchup with the staff, If the manageress is around I will pay her the balance we owe on the apartments (I like to get it out of the way) and then it's off to Ozzy's about 9:30 for our first meal. Back to the apartments for another few beers and have a chat with a few regulars who we know will be there.

After a long day and with the all the travelling we will make sure we have an early night (about 2am) to catch up on some sleep and so we are ready to go for our 3 week break.

Last few time we have been we have been arriving at apartments at 5am, same again this year. So str8 to bed for me, I'd like to be able to stay awake but after the travel I am ready for bed, but am usually back up at 9 then out and about. Usually go for breakfast then str8 to the pool for a nice easy first day.

I always go for the cheapest flight so it usually ends up being a night flight, but I always make sure I am not loosing any time so usually get a flight for 15 nights that way I dont loose a day.

We usually arrive late at night, since our flights are mid afternoon from London.

We drop our bags and head out in the hunt for something to eat and an icy cold Efes to wash it down with!
The music has usually stopped by then, but the welcoming company continues, meaning we stay up pretty late (or early haha) then head off to bed and spend the day at the pool, before making ourselves look gorgeous  and heading for our first proper night out.

Ahhh I cannot wait, thinking about this!!

We should arrive in Icmeler around 10.30 pm and my daughter, Zeynep1985, and myself have already planned to dump our luggage at Babadan, freshen up quicksmart then straight to the 3Bells for cocktails - sex-on-the-beach was the fave last year! Just thinking about it gets me all excited - just can't wait for the fun to begin.

If we get a night flight, we usually get to aparts at around 6.30 am.
I'm always far too excited to sleep either on the way or when we first arrive, so while everyone else crashes out, I unpack then have lots of coffees/teas on the balcony.....lie round the pool all day and have to call it a day at around 21.00 ha ha after eating at Bullshits

This year, we'll get to aparts around 19.30, so we're planning on heading straight to Bullshits, having an early night and then unpacking before we go to bed.
