We did think the resort was a bit quieter than usual for June, but there were still plenty of people around.

We were there from 10th - 25th June and the 1st week was really quiet. Did pick up the 2nd week but must say in all the years we have been going this was the quietest so far. We go back 3rd Sept - cant wait. Enjoy yours x

Well it has been very busy over the last few years, with Turkey really taking off as a holiday destination, so there was bound to be a drop off sooner or later, that's how it goes

Must admit, we went to majestics after our meal last night and we noticed it was a lot quieter than previouse years. mind you it was a lot easier to get a table too.

Just got back yesterday, its very quiet in the bars and restaurants to what it has been over the years, went to Christines Travellers Rest for our last meal on Sunday night, the waiter said last year was busy, this year all they are catching are mosquitos !!!!!!! I really do blame this on the amount of All inclusives that are being allowed to operate, in some parts of Turkey ie Lara Beach thats fine, but not in a small resort like icmeler, I think the mayor is killing the local traders. The ai are like school canteens, all you hear are rattling cutlery the people just dont venture outside. You can probably tell Im not a fan

in a resort like icmeler, i think there are so many good places to eat and drink at very reasonable prices,. why would you want to tie yourself to an all inclusive. not for me thankyou liz

I can see your point, however I do stay all inclusive. But I treat it as a glorified HB hotel. I usually have breakfast, lunch and all my day time drinks at the hotel, then I tend to eat out every night. That way I get the best of both worlds. I usually don't pay very much for AI so it works a treat for me.
I have only been back home a couple of weeks. I can't wait to get back in October :D

All Inclusive will eventually bring any resort to it's knees, the only good thing about it is it keeps all the Russians behind closed doors.

oo harsh Ade   but why not speak as you find eh?!

we much prefer SC, but if our budget was tight then AI in Icmeler would be better than nothing :)
Tracey seems to have it spot on - cheap AI, making use of it during the day and then venturing out at night. I reckon a family could save a fortune on drinks and ice creams esp if they like spending their days round the pool

If more people have gone AI then surely there is a demand for it so you cant blame the hotels. The blame should be with the people who want AI. Dont forget people we are in yards times economically, peoples jobs are on the line who dont want to commit to spending large amounts of money. We are lucky enough to go but next year I very much doubt we will be able to have a holiday.
On the plus side if its relatively quiet it will help preserve the place instead of it booming and expanding into another horror story and I welcome that.
