Palm Garden/Supermarket

Postby Little Miss Magic » 15 May 2011 15:45

Hi all

Staying at the Palm Garden Apartments next month (can't wait!!).
We are self catering and I don't think there is a supermarket/shop at the apartments - please correct me if I am wrong!

So, was just wondering, how far and where is the closest/best supermarket/shop for our "provisions" - breakfast, bottled water etc.

Many Thanks
LMM

Hi, Stayed at these apartments a couple of years back. The apartments sell the big water containers at the bar. You are just round the corner from the main street, there is a little shop just as you turn right at the main street or turn left and you will reach tansas near the end of the street. Nice apartments, enjoy uyour holidays, I fly off tomorrow!!

Tansas is larger and will have a bigger selection, or on the road there from your apartments, you'll also pass the Dia supermarket, which is quite good too.

You'll have a great time at the Palm.
We stayed there in September 2009. Last week my son, who was staying in Green Nature Marmaris, popped in to see what the apartments were like this year and received a great welcome from Ali and his staff, who had remembered him (and us) from that visit.

As for a supermarket, the Elvis Bar has moved and a supermarket has been built in its place. Thats 100 yards away from the Palm, so I think you'll be ok

Cheers Andy

Hi Guys

I have stayed at these apartments several times. However, last year there were a lot of complaints!! It didn't really effect us because we just used it as a base and were out all the time. However we did discover the drinks especially the cocktails to be over priced and very week.

Breakages were what people were complaining about. One of the guest accidently smashed a small plate and was charged 40TL. Another broke a glass and was charged 35TL.

Also the maid would go into the room and turn the fridge down, and I wouldn't bother paying for air con, as it only works when your in the room, if you take the fob off your key to leave your air con on, then the owner will confiscate it.

Other than that the apartments are clean with a lovely pool.

There is a good bakery just round the corner from the Tansas supermarket - not sure if there are any closer at hand, but someone else might know.

Blondie thanks for this I had seen in an earlier post about the bakery near Tansas which is roughly 15-20mins away not a bad stroll in the morning.

It'll be worth the walk when you taste the fantastic fresh bread - which costs the equivalent of a few pennies! Wish we had it over here - it's lovely!

We stayed at the Palm gardens last year and found it very good, so much so we will be back there in 3 weeks time.
The location of the Palm Gardens is first class, everything you need is within a short walk.

Anyone else flying from Doncaster on the 13th June?
