Old Village

Postby niamhsgran » 22 Jun 2010 15:29

I keep reading about the Old village and dont have a clue where it is.
I was in Icmeler 2 years ago and stayed in Sun Apartments near the Wednesday market.
Are they anywhere near the old village.

They are basically in the old village haha. I would class the old village as anything from deja vu upwards!

This is the village however the "real old village" is probably the area where the other mosque is, not the one near the Sun apartments.

If you go to deja vu and follow the road past the Bahar apartments for about 800 metres who will see the mosque. In this area there are traditional houses where the locals live with their livestock in the gardens and grow their own crops etc. There are also a few local palces, eg bakers, barbers shop

I would agree with Stewart - the real "old village" is up around the other mosque, where you can turn the corner and find cows or goats in people's gardens. It's a lovely place to have a wander round.
