Sounds good - we've often passed the Selam but never tried it, but we've read so many good reports on here that it's definitely on our list of "must try" places this year. Only a week, so many places to try, so little time....

You had me going there for a minute with your heading, thought it had changed ownership.

This is so one of our favourite places, give it a try you won't be disappointed.

sophia, you'll find the selam if you cross the road at Tansas, and take the road to the left of the Red Lion. Its further down that street on the left hand side

Right, OK thanks. It doesn't sound too hard to find!

I always try turkish dishes but this year I am going to make sure I sample a few traditional turkish restaurants and dishes. Always end up goin in my favourite restaurants but have two weeks this year, so more time on my hands!

Thanks.

Just a thought.
Now that the Selam has no roof does this affect the smoking rules for this restaurant :?:
I am a non smoker & don't fully understand the rules nowadays :?

most of the places that are inside will tell you to sit on the table nearest the outside if you want to smoke
then they dont mind but sometimes they dont like when you smoke right inside your restaurant as it is the law and im sure that they will be cracking down on it too as well as the hassle

I hope all the restaurants will consider non smokers as well, as nothing worse than having a meal and being surrounded by smoke. having said that most of the places have fans so shouldn't be too much of a problem.

The reason that the roof has been taken away from the Selam Restaurant is that the owner is trying to sell the upstairs apartment now that Cybel and her husband have vacated it and moved to their own place in the Village.
