Efendi

Postby beesknees » 25 Feb 2010 16:27

Hi, we're coming to Iclemar in September and staying at Efendi. Would appreciate some info on the hotel and surounding area. We've been to Turkey many times but always stayed at Hisaronu or Olu Deniz so a bit nervous of coming somewhere else in case it isn't so good.

The Efendi is right in the resort centre and about 50 mtrs from the sea front.
Had friends staying in this hotel last july and they said it was good the pool area is a sun trap but quite small.I have been going to Iclemer for the last eight years and always had a great time happy hols.

Beesknees - don't worry. The Efendi is a good basic hotel. The pool is small but as it is only a short stagger (maybe 25 yards) to the beach cooling off isn't a problem.

There is a 24 hour shop opposite the hotel for water, money exchange etc and although the hotel has it's own restaurant there are many other restaurants about.

I am sure you will like Icmeler and the Efendi. When in September will you be there? I am also going to the Efendi in September so may well see you there.

The Efendi is a fantastic little hotel, we stayed there a few years ago and then returned last June, and are booked for September this year. As previous have said the pool is small but a definate suntrap. The beach is so close you can smell the sea. Rooms are basic but very clean and as the air-con is included in the cost of the holiday it saves you money. The breakfast is normal turkish fare but they do a fantastic potato dish that you must try. Attatched to the hotel are the Meastro resturant and the Heaven bar both places give a discount to people staying in the hotel, the staff throughout the hotel/bar and resturant cannot do enough for you and will keep you entertained, a lot of the staff changed last year but they are a great bunch. The owner of the hotel is a loverly lady she also owns the Kontes hotel next door and oftern pops in and has a chat to see if everything is going OK with your stay. I am sure that once you try the Efendi you will want to return again and again as it is close to the center of Icmeler and evrything is within a comfotable walking distance.

Just got back from the Efendi, first time to Turkey.

The hotel is basic and the mattress is very hard. No top sheet just a blanket that left marks on my skin in the morning!

Turkish breakfast but also scrambled egg, a fried potato dish and nice bread which they will toast for you. The staff in the restaurant and Heaven bar are fantastic, they really made our holiday. They make everyone feel special, I wish I was back there! :D
