Where to go and What to see?

Postby pringles » 04 Jun 2010 10:37

Hey all, I am newbie signed up today. I must say its a fantastic forum.. so much information which is a credit to all... :)
We are staying at Julian Apts which I have read is pretty far out and there are lots of stories about wasps.. but still I am very excited.

I was wondering if there are shisha cafes in icmeler? Which Clubs and Bars are the best?

Looking forward to hearing the great advice...

you will be spolied for choice on restaurants and bars. Most places are restaurants up until 10pm when the entertainment starts. the entertainment stops at midnight, due to noise control, but you are welcome to stay and continue your night into the small hours, with some places playing quiet background music.

If you fancy a livelier night, there are two nightclubs in Icmeler - Pleasure and Eastenders, both open till 4am if you fancy a late one. Alternatively you can go into Marmaris where the bigger clubs are - i personally don't like it, too in your face, and don't have the same 'safe' feeling as in Icmeler, but it's all down to personal choice I suppose. You could always go through one night and see if you like it.

julian forest is at the edge of the mountain and offers a great breeze during the day
the wasps arent that bad
they are worst when you are standing for the dolmus when the sun goes down and its not dark yet
so go out when the sun is still out a little bit and you wont have a problem :)
hope this helps

Thanks for the responses.. we are all very excited!

We are travelling on Saturday - at the time of the England match (was not my choice! ergh) and will be there for a week.

Are there any day excursions you would recommend?

ICR do a whole range of excursions - if you click on the Icmeler Online link at the top of the page, there is a whole section on excursions there. The all day boat trip is a nice relaxing day out - you get to visit various bays, with stops to allow you to swim off the boat and a barbecue lunch is included. Take a look at the trips or pop into the ICR office in the resort and the lovely ladies there will get you all sorted out!
