what you want to meet up with people of the forum first you have to bring money for the effes we down here know about you lot from north of the boarder lol

We just have get togethers, bond new friendships, put faces to names and have a marvellous night. Not forgetting lots of vodka, efes, or whatever your favourite tipple is.

The first one we went to was in 2007 and we made some really good friends who we keep in touch with and are fortunate enough to meet up with when we are in Icmeler every now and then as most folks go at the same time of year.

I went on one, turn out a bit poor.

We went last year to Vinces and had a meal and chatted to Vince who is lovely,also to Lynn Jennie who was sat near us and was lovely and her husband....introduced myself to good lookin bill and Rami...smashing bloke, but after that it was a bit spare part feeling for me and I'm a geordie and a barmaid and not shy type...but felt a bit lost.Don't know that we will go this year although we always chat to people and talk about the forum.....Sorry if anyone offended but am well grown up and honest.

well we went to two and had a great time met a few members then went into the bar donna was their so it was a bit mad then we went to havanas met more their

The meet ups are very different now to what they were a few years ago.

A few years ago I or Rami arranged them all and had usually belly dancers, Turkish folk dancers and even Michael Jackson and robots turn up at them.

We had musical chairs and other games and gave out prizes to competitors and lots of free drink and even free meals to lucky winners.

Nowadays we leave it entirely to the members who make their own arrangements for meets on the forum as we and the bar owners where the meets were arranged for were getting a bit dissilusioned with lots of people saying they were going so stuff was planned and people were let down when not many turned up.

Now if you turn up its a bonus I suppose to bars but if they do not know about it then when people don't turn up then they don't know any different.

The very first one we went to a meet up was in the Old Famous Kitchen that was roughly 12 years ago i always remember there done bingo we won the single line which was a cocktail and my young daughter then aged 12 won the full house she got a fish bowl guess what i had to drink it pity she was under aged i did treat her the next day to some nice cloths

We had a fantastic night played musical chairs etc saw Micheal Jackson

We met Rami and Hakhan and also the lovely Gene and his wife i think John had just returned home then that was a really nice night which we will never forget

I ordered the lamb and it was the best meal ive ever had in Turkey .

I remember getting a gift voucher thing to go round the corner from Old Famous to a jewelers and i got a beautiful piece off Turkish gold think it was a little pendant to put on my necklace still got it in the safe.

Sadly the Old Famous Kitchen is not there now

I was hoping to be there this time to go to Zaza meet up but sadly its fell on the wrong day we don't arrive till 7pm on the 2nd so it will have to be the Chill Bar on the 9th maybe in Oct our dates will fall right x

Forgot too add in Old Famous Kitchen years ago if you had a evening meal you always got a voucher for a free next days breakfast and food was spot on x
