I love looking up at the mountains, strolling to the beach, reminds of home but coming from Wales we very rarely see the sunshine. My dream would be to retire out there....anyone got something to sell

I love it because there is no hussle and bussle of the uk, no bad news stories much and the only eastenders is the nightclub!

Along with all the usual stuff we all like about icmeler, i like cheese and chips washed down with turkish tea in the nazar cafe at 2.30 in the morning. also having a kebab at 5.30 in the morning watching the sun come up over the mountains.

My first visit in "07 was excellent,ex-wife even enjoyed !! Girls (then 9@18-don't ask !!) also enjoyed time.Stayed with 2 other couples (friends in a private apartment complex,excellent time had by all.Not usually the sort to return to the same country/area twice,but so good went again Sept 08 on our own,and even better holiday experience (ex even enjoyed !!).
This year going back with youngest daughter and same friends,and to say can't wait is an understatement ! People fantastic,locals and even fellow tourists (!!).Sounds like changes in Icmeler will take a bit of getting used to,with new restaurants etc,and sounds like costs have also increased,but as everyone else aggrees it is still a superb place to be.
Is the Majestic restaurant still good down by the canal ? After an initial bad evening on our first visit,through friends speaking to the owner,we had a fantastic time when we went in the rest of the holiday. Hope our friend still doing his Freddie Mercury take offs,and also his Devil routine.Brilliant.
Only 127 sleeps to 27th of Sept.But counting down.Need a good break after the year i'm having !

I love:
The lavash bread
The way shopkeepers can always find the item you want, if they dont have it they will get it from their "other" shop in Marmaris for you.
The market- love seeing all the fresh fruit and vegetables as nature intended all misshaped unlike the type you buy in the supermarkets.
Restaurants collecting you and bringing you back home (or to your hotel) free of charge.
The way the people remember you from the year before even though you only met them once.
Sailing on the gullets.
