Onur Air Flight Tickets

Postby Amanda M » 11 May 2010 17:18

I am due to fly out on 23rd May with Onur Air and haven't yet received any e-tickets from them. I have flown with them on many occasions as I have an apartment in the Old Village and always receive my tickets by e-mail at least 2 weeks prior to my flight. I have telephoned Aegean Flights who have told me on 2 occasions that the tickets will be sent through shortly. I have e-mailed them twice to be told the first time that they would be sent out 14 days before the flight (which they weren't) and today they have e-mailed me back to say that they are having a system problem and cannot send out e-tickets at the moment but they will be sent as soon as the problem is rectified.

As with many people who have booked with them, I have had at least 2 time changes (both from really good flight times to now horrendous night flights) and also they have advised that they are changing our carrier going out from Birmingham and we will now be going out with Thomas Cook. I have had an e-mail requesting our passport information but nothing else.

Is anyone else having a problem with their tickets or is it just me? Starting to really worry that there is a problem with the airline. If I don't get my e-tickets and just turn up at the airport with my invoice etc, will they let me fly?

They have also changed my August flights by a day. I think I will give them a miss next year and book with someone else.

I would just keep ringing every day just to keep them on their toes.
You do still have plenty of time to receive your e-ticket before you depart but like you say it is stressfull.
If I didnt receive my ticket I would turn up at the airport with my invoice because all the relevant information is on that.

With regards to Onur Flights I still think they are the cheapest carrier if you book your flights early enough,we had our August holiday altered by two days but I would still use Onur again.

Thanks Gene. I probably am worrying unnecessarily and I will keep ringing them every day as you say. It is worrying enough whether we'll get there with the ash cloud never mind missing tickets as well!! My eldest daughter (15) will be inconsolable if we can't go. She calls Icmeler her home and here is her temporary home!! A very young convert! Never mind, fingers crossed that all will be fine.

Hope things get sorted out soon for you Amanda, its bad enough with this ash cloud causing worries for folks

I fly out on 22 May for 2 weeks. booked with Aegean back in August and got flights at a good price. Luckily enough I recieved my tickets via email about 10 days ago, and although my flght time has changed, it was only by 1.5 hours later. Still a crappy night flight out though but decent coming back

As Gene says keep on their case and I am sure it will be sorted

We are flying with Onur in Sept. I have never had e tickets before (apart from Dublin last year), we have always had them posted to us, so all this about them not arriving really makes me nervous :(
I will be panic stricken if they don't arrive on time. I still can't get my head around printing your own tickets, it doesn't seem real.

We booked a flight last year to Dublin with Ryanair over the internet. We booked 'priority boarding' and when we went to get on the plane they said there was only one person for priority boarding and the other one had to go to the back of the queue, which was massive. The lady from Servisair would not even look at our printout never mind listen to us,she was dead ignorant, it was so embarrassing, everybody looking at us as if we'd done something wrong. My husband stood his ground and would not move so they finally let him get on a bit later than me.
When we came home everything was fine, no questions asked on the return flight, and it was exactly the same paperwork. :?

I emailed Ryanair to complain and they gave me a refund of the 'priority boarding' fee, no apology no nothing
Needless to say i will not fly with Ryanair again however cheap they are!

I've not had tickets from Onur air for the last 2 years, you just print off the confirmation of your booking and show that at the check-in desk.
