For goodness sake, people are supposed to be on holiday. What is wrong with site seeing and learning about Turkey and the culture. Don't people spend enough time on laptops and watching dvd's throughout the year, without taking them on holiday!

For a start we are going in the first week of april, the child is 17, second this is our sixth time to icmeler and as for culture thats what istanbul is for icmeler is a holiday resort not the culture capitol of Europe, re istanbul

I don't see how someone asking about wi-fi access should bother anyone else, starchild - it seems a reasonable enough request to me. There could be any number of reasons why someone might want to have wi-fi access during their holiday - it doesn't necessarily mean they're going to be spending their entire holiday on the internet! It's not as if it's going to affect other holidaymakers, is it?

A lot of people that use laptops are not children keeping in touch with their friends back home on msn and facebook.

Believe it or not some parents actually have to earn a living from their laptops so that they can take their children on holiday and like myself the laptop goes everywhere as we do not have the luxury of a 9-5 job with weekends off and so many weeks paid holiday a year but then that is the load we bear for our sins

I am sorry if I have offended anyone, but this is just my opinion. Unfortunately, I am not lucky enough to have a job and my hubby is registered disabled so can't work, but I do know several people who do rely on earning a living from their laptops, but as they have even said, 2 weeks away from the computer is bliss. I am also aware that Istanbul is the City for culture and Icmeler is only a holiday resort, but I, like several friends agree, holidays are for relaxing... I love it when we come to Icmeler, 2 weeks without e-mails and Facebook. Our time is taken with going out with the Turkish friends that we have made over the years, and going to different places of interest :D

Live and let live.
Who am I to judge what others do on holiday,if I choose to go to Turkey and have fish and chips for every meal that is my choice and is no one elses bussiness.
We "The Members" on this forum like to give un-biased information on any question that may be asked and answere to the best of our knowledge.
If I want to go on facebook or msn every night it is my choice.
Enjoy what you do and leave others to do the same.
