New Airport luggage checks?

Hi everyone,
When we left dalaman in May we found that every piece of luggage, including hand luggage, where weighed all together!!!.......Can anyone who has travelled recently from the new Airport tell me if they are still doing this please?.....this was the first time it had happened to us and although we were ok .......just.......there were several who wern't so lucky and had to pay the extra .Going back in 2 weeks(whoopee...cant wait) and dont want to overload if they are going to continue weighing hand luggage.

We travelled back on Monday 10th July they only weighted our cases not our hand luggage.However it took for ages. We were over the limit.They didn't charge us but we think they have been told to get the people checked in as they appear to be having a lot off problems with their computers at the moment.It took them nearly 20 minutes to check our family in as they kept making mistakes.

We flew back on Monday too and same for us, we were just okay but there were quite a few in front of us who were weighing in at 23lbs plus and they were putting them through - no weighing hand luggage either, dont know if they will get more to grips with their systems by the time you come back though

As far as I understand it, even though they might weigh the hand luggage it's not part of the 20kg per person. I think you are allowed 5kg per person hand luggage. We came back on July 2 and our hand luggage wasn't weighed.

lets hope its the same when we go, now im really getting excited... only 14 sleeps.
I keep thinking of that feeling i get just as we drive out of Marmaris and reach the top of the hill and look over to see Icmeler......... its a feeling of...........Awwwww i'm home!!!!!!

Letmein on your return would you post a reply as to what is happening with the weighing of luggage as I fly out on the 6th August, do not want any surprises when we check in. Do you know how much it is you have to pay for extra weight as I have never had to pay it before and would like to know what sort of price to expect if I do.

Hiya Clare,

I dont return until the 11th but will post a review when i do, i might be wrong but i think the excess luggage was about £4 a kilo (2.2lb) and i can remember a lady in front of us had to pay quite a bit as she had had bedding and matching curtains made!!! I really thought we had gone over and had my good old credit card waiting .....but like i said we were really lucky

We got leg room seats because we asked for them and there was no charge!

I got back early this morning. They only weighed our suitcases, not our hand luggage.
