Belek?

Postby sandybeach » 09 Dec 2009 15:47

Just read in the paper that Belek in Turkey got the No1 spot for the best beach, has anyone been to this area before? But I am wondering how it would compare to Icmeler?
I would love to hear your comments on it as I am thinking of visiting.I absolutely love Icmeler but everynow and again you need a bit of a change. We we went to Olu Deniz once but in our opinion it fared a lot lower than Icmeler, from the banter with the beach boys to the service in the restaurants. I love the way the Turks can joke in their second language .
Have already booked 3 weeks in Icmeler in May/June but I would like try somewhere else maybe in September October for a week.

We do sell Belek but seem to sell more in the winter time after the season has finished in Icmeler.

Belek is a year round resort and quite different to Icmeler in the respect that they are all new hotels and mostly 5 star all inclusives.

Lots of East Europeans and Russiand favour that part of Turkey.

Dont get me wrong Im not 'racist' or anything, last year they were cramming into restaurants and not paying, drinking on the beach until they were sick..(literally) and just a general nuisance

Stay in Belek which from now on will be officially known as 'Area 51' or 'District 9'...

Ive just had a week in Egypt and the nationalaties other than ours are actually the entertainment as in watching the antics out of them.

Whole families running into the all inclusive restaurants and filling the tables up.

The English get a plate put a few bits on then go back for more.

These people don't eat a bit and then get up they start with a bowl of soup and put it on the table and then they go back for each course until each person has at least half a dozen plates piled up per person then I think they have a contest between themselves who can leave the most.

Total waste.

The hotel management should step in and tell them they can't leave the table until they've eaten all their dinners.

Then smack their bottoms if they still misbehave. They want to act like kids.......they can be treated thus.

Then again, there's probably plenty of adults who'd pay for that
