Kleopatra II Apartments...

Postby Amelia_Jane » 01 Oct 2009 18:12

I go on Icmeler online all the time, but ive only just joined the forum, i didnt even realise there was one lol!
Anywhos, i was just wondering if anyone has been to the Kleopatra Apartments in Icmeler, and whether you's have any feedback on them? I went to Icmeler last year and stayed in the Pinewood which were fab, but we just fancied trying somewhere different, so we've booked to go to the Kleopatra next year in August...any feedback would be great! Many thanks x

Hi, I've stayed at the Kleopatra aparts before and they're great. They are situated very close to where the weekly market is, in a quiet, residential area, and are run by a lovely family. The rooms were very clean and the staff are all friendly, especially Jake who works on reception, and has done for years. The pool area isn't as big as the one at Pinewood though, but it's big enough. I'd recommend the Turkish night, the food is all freshly prepeard and cooked by the family on an open barbeque and is delicious!

Enjoy :)

Hey Louise! Thanks for your reply, and a good one at that! Im so pleased to hear they are good apartments, seeing as im going for 4 weeks there! It doesnt matter that the pool isnt as big tbh, i hardly went in the one in pinewood anyways, i just used to dip in when i'd get too hot lol =P I was down the beach alot! I never really got to know many of the staff at Pinewood, except for Yunus the barman who was so cute! Im glad to hear the staff are a bit more lively at Kleopatra, they seemed to keep themselves to themselves at Pinewood which was a shame.
I shall defo check out the turkish night for sure, i love turkish food! Just wondering, have you ever been to the market? I never went last time and wanted to know if it was worth going?
Thanks again x

Oooh yeh, definately go to the market...I don't think the markets are as cheap as they used to be, but it's still an experience lol! Its is a fairly big market, and you can get the usual stuff ie t-shirts, bags, etc pretty much the same as in the shops really. I'd recommend going as early as you can though, it gets very crowded and not to mention hot! At least if you're staying at the Kleopatra, you wont have far to carry your bags lol...

here goes Amelia_Jane, for a total opposite reply to Loobys hehehe

I've found over the years that the quality of the stuff you get on the market is far inferior to what you can get in the shops or the underground/canal markets - the quality's better on both of those and the prices are roughly the same

Bonus for going to shops/underground/canal is that it's not as stifling heat-wise and FAR LESS hassle
and you can take something back if you're not happy with it

if you do go to the market and want bargains, the best time to go is around 16.00 rather than early on
the only reason to go early on is to avoid the crowds and heat of the day....
again, the canal/shops/underground - you can go in the evenings when it's not as hot. have a browse one day and go back another

can you tell that I really loathe the Weds market ?!?!?!
only decided that after 5 years of visiting it

Haha thanks for your replys Fanny and Chris! I actually briefly browsed the canal markets when i was down the beach one day, and yes i do agree Fanny, i was very thankful that they were covered over or i would've melted like an ice-cream cone! It was still boiling though, so i told myself i'd go back and look at them properly on the night-time, but i never got round to it =/ Shall defo check them out again next year.
And Chris, it sounds like if i do go to the market then i shall need to get up well early! You got some good bargains there though, it's just finding the suit-case space to fit everything in lol...i was already on the limit going in to Turkey haha! You have to pay if you go over 20kg right?

yep, if you're over your limit you're very likely to get stung hugely for it - the price per kg varies from airline to airline.
Bear in mind too that each airline seems to have a different luggage allowance so it's worth checking your tickets to see exactly what you're allowed for both hand luggage and hold luggage

we only had a 15kg allowance in August and if it wasn't for my youngest daughter not using all hers I don't know what I'd have done!!!

before we get told off for being waaaaaaaaaaaay off topic, don't forget to let us know how you get on at the Kleopatra!!

Fanny that's quite shocking that you only got 15kg allowance, i would have been screwed! And yes we are going a little off topic lol...i shall defo let you's know how i get on at Kleopatra! It's just a shame i have to wait till next July before i go :( I want to go nowwww!
Have you ever been to the Kleopatra apartments Fanny? Or Chris for that matter? Or anybody else who is reading this message in fact! I'd love to hear your stories of when you went if you would be so kind :)

we used to stay near the Kleopatra I believe but we've never seen them - also I think there are 2 Kleopatra's but I could be wrong?

am sure someone will be able to let you know more before next July

and yes, 15kg is very low, but we're off again in a couple of weeks and are only going for a week - couldn't believe that we've got 20kg of hold luggage each!
