As far as i am aware it is not possible to buy genuine branded english fags or baccy in Turkey and i also believe it is illegal to try and do so, so all are fake unless bought from airport of course .

Do they take English £5 notes? May seem a silly question but someone told me they did'nt.

Also does anyone know if they still take the old turkish lira? I've got some that I brought back 6years ago and wondred if its worth taking it with me.

I have used £5 notes in the canal area at the stalls, but never used them in restaurants or anything.

Unfortunately the old Turkish Lira (millions) is no longer legal tender.

Any large notes you get this year, make sure you spend them or swap them for the newer smaller notes, as these wont be legal tender in 2010.

used supermarket below icr for money exchange varied from 2-45 to 2-39 last two weeks,the wife got 400 silk cut at dalaman for 37 pound.

Hi Supermarket under ICR varies daily, Just back, from 2.40 on 14th sept to 2.30 mid weekend then back up 2.37.
LFC Bar were 2.40 throughout. Enjoy :D :D
