im sure there will be a bus from marmaris to bodrum as the buses in turkey are quite good
when you are there in icmeler in october go to the otogar (bus station) in marmaris and ask the bus companies for buses to bodrum and they will let you know
or ask some turkish people they will know
hope this helps

We go 10th October...seems such a long way off. Been going there for 4 years now at that time, and every year I put the OH through hell giving him a daily countdown! We went to Alanya in 2004...it was beautiful. Stayed in a brill hotel called Artimus Princess, which was not too far from the beach. Only went for a week, but after 2 days, wished that we had booked for a fortnight :D xx

Hi Starchild

Just saw your thread on going to Bodrum and ICR do a trip there on Thursdays and Sundays it costs £30 each and takes you on the hydrafoil which is alot easer than going on a hot bus. You leave Icmeler at 8.30 for the 9.30 hydrafoil and arrive Bodrum 10.40 then you have all day to yourself and head back about 5.30ish.
Hope this has helped

You are very lucky, but I really must agree with you that Icmeler beats Alanya hands down.
Aww, bless you...can't you persuade your parents to buy an apartment in Icmeler? We would love to buy out there.
Have a wonderful holiday...I am sure you will xxx

Is Bodrum worth visiting then?

I've always put it on my list of "no way" destinations - purely because it appears in the Club 18-30 brochure

Starchild,
As mentioned earlier there is an ICR excursion which takes you to Bodrum but check out the dates to make sure its still running. We booked it through ICR when it first appeared in April/May this year to go at the beginning of June. When we turned up at the ICR office to pick up the tickets a couple of days before we found that the service didnt begin until the middle of June !! (much to Donnas horror). So we never got ! Have holidayed in Bodrum years ago and fancied taking the kids to see it. Well worth a visit not as 18-30ish as people think but not Icmeler either !!
Regards
Glen

Thanks for that Glen. I think that this is a trip that we will have to think about very carefully, as I have just Googled the trip and it says that it the hydrafoil only runs between June through to October, and we don't really fancy a 3 hour bus trip. Whether they include all of October in this or not we ain't got a damn clue. Suck it and see comes to mind :?

yeah well my parents did look about buying in icmeler 5 years ago but it was too expensive
so they bought in alanya instead
and due to the amount of property that has been built there so quickly the prices are not increasing and therefore we cant sell our one in alanya as we wouldnt make much of a profit
my mum would love an apartment in icmeler cause its our first love but right now its not possible unless your wanting to buy our alanya one from us :) ;)

Bless you...if you could move the apartment to Icmeler, I would bite your hand off...but there again, if your parents could move it to Icmeler, they wouldn't want to sell it would they
When we went to Alanya, we sat on our balcony at the hotel watching the builders literally throwing hotels up. It was brilliant...they work so fast.
