Tuncay Apartments and Icmeler Holiday August 2009

Postby Wendy » 23 Aug 2009 18:38

Hi all, returned from Icmeler on Wednesday night (19th August). Stayed for two wonderful , glorious weeks at the Tuncay Apartments in the Old Village. Mustafa and his lovely family made us so welcome it was unbelievable. he shared all sorts of food and drinks with us and in return husband Alf was the lolly ice man for the duration. What lovely apartments, so clean and well attended, the pool spotlessly clean and lovely people there with us i.e. Steve and his family SWc24. Thought Icmeler was brilliant and so green. Really dont know why we havent been to Turkey before. I know we will be going many more times. Must have frequented most of the restaurants in the town and we never had a bad meal in any of them. The best were, and we couldnt really chose between, Romance and Three Bells. Both had T Bone steaks to die for and great Anatolian Kebabs!!!!. The only one we were disappointed with was Dream Boys. The service there was diabolical. 40 minutes to get one drink!!! We never went back. over all the standard was very good throughout all the other bars and all the men in the party loved Sky Sports and free pool tables so i think we will be back there very soon. Thank you so much ICR for all your help and excellent service both at home (John and Sharon) and in resort ( cant remember the lovely lady,s name) Many many thanks from the Fletcher and Williams families.

Hi Rob, Yes got millions of pics of these apartments but unfortunately Mustafa is retiring in October and not taking in any more guests. Its a real shame because this was our first time to Turkey and my family have rated this as the best holiday ever. The Mama Tuncay and Baba Tuncay are just around the corner and although we never went in they are run by the same family so perhaps either of those might be an option for you.

*ugger!

Does anyone know whats happening with this? I really fancied being close to the old town and somewhere small but with a nice pool. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Rob.

Never mind Rob, Mustafa did say he had a ten year lease and it had run out so maybe he is just getting a bit fed up waiting up for guests to arrive in the middle of the night as most of the flights either arrive about 4 am or depart about then. A lovely man though couldnt do enough for my family and his little grand daughter will be famous in a few years. She was amazing - could sing and dance all day.

Hi Rob

We stayed in the old village at the Prestij Apartments in June. They were great. Quite small and very clean and the staff were excellent. We booked again for next year.

Just goes to show that as with the UK news papers you cannot believe everything you read.

If you book now you may if you ae lucky get in the Rhodes for next July and August as the people that stay every year love the largest pool in an apartment in Icmeler

Hi Rob
We have just returned and have stayed at Prestij for last two years, and are going back again next year. Staff great and they have a great pool. The rooms are large and are cleaned every day. Apartments on opposite end to Deja Vu
