baby equipment

Postby geordie susie » 19 Aug 2009 21:29

hi, we are going to Icmeler in October we have our own apartment and our grandson will be coming wth us . He will be only 2 months old so we will need some sort of cot or travel cot. Does anyone know how much a cheap one would be to buy or could we hire a travel cot from somewhere ? also my mother is coming too and she has trouble walking to far so we may need a wheelchair but she refuses to take one from England. Any help with either of these matters would be great thanks and any info on any baby things we oculd buy over there while we stay would also help. Cant wait, 6 weeks and 6 days and we will be there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can hire a wheelchair from the hospital in Marmaris.

Cots can be bought in Marmaris but i don't know how much for.

There are lots of babies here in Turkey so yes you can buy all sorts of baby equipment

Hi

We took our twins with us when they were only 10 weeks old and everything was great. It is worth checking with your airline as they sometimes allow you to take a travel cot in the hold. You may have to pay a bit extra for it but it would be worth it especially if you have your own apartment then it could remain there. Our friends tried to buy one from Marmaris last year and found them to be quite expensive especially when you can pick them up here fairly cheaply from A*g*s. We took everything we needed in our suitcases, i.e. sterliser, sterlising tables and just left them with a friend for when we went back 5 months later. We also took nappies with us from the UK but after a trip to the Tansas in Marmaris didn't bother the second time as they were cheap enough to buy and they also have Pampers over there. Hope this helps and if I can be of any further help just shout.

Enjoy your holiday.

I would second the recommendation of buying a travel cot to take with you. Mostairlines allow them to be carried for free and its something you would get a lot of use out of. Formula milk is expensive so if you need that I would recommend taking that too. Everything else can be picked up - Nappies, wipes etc (never seen sterilising tablets though so pack them too - Just chuck a tab into a big bottle of water with the top cut off)

If you book a transfer from us then you can request a baby seat or booster seat for your child depending on age of course.
