The Bamboo Resteraunt

13 Jul 2009 19:35

Has anyone eaten there this year?
Is murfit still plinking there?
From the only picture I have seen, there seems to be a stage there.
Is it still as good to sit, eat and watch the world go by whilst sipping efes?
Or has it changed to an all dancing all loud music sort of place?
We need to know - we only have 22 sleeps until we go!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was the 1st place we found to eat when we hit Icmeler back in 1994, things have changed a lot since then - some good quite a few bad but still the same Icmeler underneath.

Hi

The Bamboo Restaurant is still there, now run by Fevzi Ileri ( who used to have The Three Bells and Harmony up until about 2004).

It's the same guy as before, playing his guitar and singing, as I think he came as part of the fixtures and fittings. But they also out on some other entertainment too. BUt it's not all loud music like some of the Bars.

I ate there a few times and food is excellant. It gets very busy at lunchtime, as I guess it's in a prime location.

Well worth a visit

30 sleeps for me.....

Hi FBC

The Bamboo Restaurant is now run by our family friend (Turkish family). We met back in 1995 and have remained very very close friends ever since. Our son will get married in April next year and we hope dearly that two of the family will be able to be present at the wedding. Fevzi Ileri has seen our son and daughter grow up from the age of 6 and 9, and think of them both as his own children. We will be with them in Icmeler from the 29th July for three weeks. His family mean the world to me.

Murfit is still playing his guitar as well as other varied entertainment in the restaurant.

I agree with you the Bamboo is in a lovely position on the beach.

Hope you have a lovely holiday.

Never had an evening meal at the Bamboo, but quite often popped in for a spot of lunch. It is indeed in a great location - especially if you enjoy "people watching", and we've always found the staff great.

Evening meals are excellent at the Bamboo we ate here twice at night on our recent trip
