Can't answer the question about the beer as I've not been this year yet, friends stayed at the Efes inn and had a great time.

Have a fantastic holiday, we went to Icmeler in 2002 and haven't been anywhere else since, you never know, you may catch the bug as well.

Ohhh yes, the beer (Efes) is fantastic.

Cheapest - well it seems to be much of a muchness the prices all over. If you really want to go "cheap" though - just buy it from a supermarket, and chill it in your fridge back at the apartment, then pour yourself a cool one sat on the balcony

That's good to do at the end of an evening, but you want to be sat in a bar people watching, it's not too expensive really.

You'll love Icmeler as much as the rest of us, I'm sure - we found the prices of beer roughly about the same in most places when we were there earlier this month. Nothing quite beats that ice cold Efes on a boiling hot day!

.....and you're staying in the Hotel named after it hehehe

cheap beer can usually be found not far from the Efes - across the road and in the little streets behind the Alinda hotel
you'll find Buffalos, Champion, and others and also a couple of great kebab places that the locals also frequent [always a good sign]
and not forgetting Havanna Bar almost straight across the road from the Efes

have a great time

I think the Mayor has enforced all bars to sell efes at 4 lira, but I did read somewhere that Buffalos has it advertised at 4 but is selling it cheaper.

Have a fantastic holiday.

I think some are selling a bit cheaper than advertised - we found it at 3.50 in a few places.

Enjoy your holiday!

It will be my first visit to Turkey as well. However, I feel I already know that much about the resort thanks to this forum.
