I normally just take English money with me and change some over there to pay for meals. When you are buying bags, jewellery etc you can pay with English money, Euros or Turlish Lira the Turks dont care what you pay them with and nornally they give you your change in the same currency you paid with which always amuses me.
I used Arslan Market to change money our first week, then noticed our
hotel was giving a better rate sometimes it pays to keep an eye open and look around most supermarkets have a sign up showing their exchange rates.
