Ekinci Palace

04 Jun 2009 14:18

Hi All
Has anyone stayed at the Ekinci Palace? If so, did you have a good time? Is it near bars and not too far from the centre of Icmeler - dont want to be to remote and in the sticks so to speak - want to be within walking distance of supermarkets or shops and bars, restaurants etc.
Cheers

The Ekinci Palace is just near the old village, about a 10-15 min walk from the town, although there are plenty of bars and restaurants in the old village to chose from as well as the ones in the centre of town

Unless things have changed dramatically since last year, you will enjoy the Ekinci Palace. It is very handy for the Old Village, our preferred haunt and within easy access of the town centre and beach.

Last year, their first with Brits, previously Danes, when you were in the bar they ran a tab for you that had to be settled the next day or at the end of the week. This can be quite scary on your first couple of nights if you go daft on the Efes and forget how much you have, as the drinks are not cheap compared with the town centre. It is also easy to add one or two here and there to an obviously blootered guest. I am still trying to come to terms with my first night's bill

I pointed this out to the owners and they said that they would change this for 2009. I will know in September.

Enjoy

Hi,

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Eckinci and are going back in August. This is our 3rd time in Icmeler and 1st time at the Ekinci and am so glad we are going back. The apartments are basic but very clean. They are split into 3 blocks, 2 of which overlook the pool and the other is just behind but no big deal if you get one of these at the back. The staff cannot do enough for you. Extremely helpful etc. The Turkish Night in the Hotel is good and the food is lovely. We ate twice in the Hotel Restaurant.
Its about a 10/15 minute stroll into town and you can end up near the beach end or the banks depending on which way you go. I think you've got the best of both worlds here as in the Old Town being a bit more authentic than down by the beach/canal but its all there if you want it.

Hope this helps and if you can, please say hello to Spider, Spike, Gerard, Mehmet and the rest of the gang from the Evertonian family!!!- can't wait to get back in August.

Hi,

I've not stayed at the Ekinici Palace before but I stay right next to it in the Pinewood. It looks a decent place and the restaraunt is also very nice. It's a 10 minute walk maximum to the centre of town but there is still some restaraunts in the old village such as Deja Vu.

I hope this helps.

Hi JonnyH, I don't think the pinewood is near the Ekinci, thats the other end of Icmeler. I think the ekinci is closer to Ozzys or Rose Cafe.

Cheers John

JohnnyH think you may be thinking of Sahin Palace which is almost next door to Pinewood?
