It just goes to show how absolutely fantastic you guys are and this forum is...

I logged on late last night to browse the forum, only to see the news about Scot Travel.

I'm lucky in that I'm not affected by what's happened, however my friend and colleague is/was flying with them on Tuesday next week.

Obviously it was too late to be calling her but I spoke to her first thing this morning - she had no idea... not a clue... until I told her.

Hopefully she'll be able to make alternative arrangements, and still end up in Icmeler, but you wonder when she would have received communication about her holiday being cancelled.

Oh and for anyone who booked with these people using a credit card the estimated refund time is 12 weeks :?

Thanks again guys

I am so sorry for this company that I have used in one way or another since I discovered Icmeler 5 years ago as they have always been excellent and have generally provided better flight times from Glasgow than the big players. This is has been an essential for me as I have a three hour drive to Glasgow and don't want additional overnight hotel costs there.

I felt that the company surpassed itself last year when I was involved in the XLAir fiasco and they laid on flights with FlyBestAir at very short notice. As someone previously posted, I wonder if the additional costs involved in this have led to their downfall?

My flights this year were again booked through Scot Travel at a competitive price and again with good flight times. On hearing of their demise last night, while on election duty and with my brain numbed beyond boredom, was one of sympathy, initially for them before my own circumstance kicked in.

Fortunately, I paid with my Visa Mastercard so I should be OK and have contacted my bank to set the wheels in motion to reclaim my payment. I have also been lucky (eh) enough to have been able to book flights on my departure and return dates, albeit at a cost of £120.00 more.

I'm still trying to come to terms with the fact that this has happened to me in two consecutive years but I suppose it is a reality of the the current climate. I really thought that nothing worse could happen to a holiday than the collapse of sterling when Northern Rock went belly up.

Please do not buy your lucky white heather from me

Sorry to hear about Scotts . Would suggest Kittys been lucky with her dealings with the CAA.
I was at Manchester Airport for early flight to tenerife the night XL went down . Total chaos . Put my claim in in Sept finally got claim number in Jan 09 - no communications since - telepphones not answered - no response to emails (despite web site stating they will reply within 7 days)
Heard on the radio this week it will be ed of year before sorting ! So dont hold your breath for a refund - I m not.
