Hi geordiewoman, we went to the mud baths at Dalyan last year and the mud itself wasn't smelly, but after you shower the mud off, there is another pool you can go into and it does smell of sulphur or rotten eggs, hubby put one toe in the water and ran, but I did brave it and went in. Not for long as the smell is quite overpowering. Our 14year old son refused to go in the mud, probably wasn't "cool" for a teenager, but he did stand laughing at his dad and me. The trip is a lovely one and everyone needs to go at least once, but you don't have to go in the sulphur pool and it only smells when you are almost in it, so if you want to have a mud bath, I'd still go. My daughter and my future daughter in law are coming back with us this year and I think they want to go, so I might have to go again, just to see their faces when they get in the mud, it doesn't feel how you would think it would! I have photo's of us at the mud baths, but there is no way I'm letting anyone see me in a bikini, but it is a great laugh.
