Hi Dotty I have brought this old topic of ours up from last September.
Call their bluff, suggest that when you have evidence of the flight taking off etc, like we did.

Has anybody had a problem with,Aegean/H4u, in regard to flight changes
We were notified that our flight had been brought forward by a full day the reason given was that the flight was "cancelled due to lack of bookings"!!!,The flight being, the return leg of Onur 380/379 return on Mon 6 Oct, I have known this flight for a few years and this being the 4th time this year we have been on it
Before the telphone conversation progressed any further I told the lass on the phone that no disrespect to her, lies are being told, and no way has this flight been cancelled, as it is a well sought after one ,and also that it was still being advertised as we speak, even by her own company on the net.
And that when I had the evidence from Dalaman on the 6th that it had took off, then the, "s--- would hit the fan" !!
She was very good and said that she would see her manager to see if I could keep the same date, and ring me back, but was still insistant that the flight was cancelled,
True to her word she rang back and!!!, they have managed to get me 2 tickets on the flight that they are now happy to say is "Not now cancelled" So Im now on the original flight again!! I just might add here that the return leg of my flight is being advertised at this moment for 4 times what I paid for it 12 months ago. Its not rocket science here is it!
I have to stress here that I had every sympathy for the lass I spoke to. why should her management put her in a situation where she has to tell lies and take agro off irate customers, they have the morals of sewer rats!
She was very courtious and helpfull, and to which I thanked her.
But my very special thanks must go to the --
"Airplane Fairy"
Who waved her magic wand !
Sprinkled her Fairy Dust !!
And so wonderously made Onur 379 re-appear

Seriously though, it is terrible that they have the audacity to try and carry out such requests. It's a good job that you are such a worldly wise traveller and didn't just take their word for gospel.

Good for you peli getting your orignal flights back, Im impressed with your telephone manners , i work in an office, shouting gets you know where,
dont sprinkle any fairy this way as then we be back be on a XL flight

All through the conversation I could more or less feel the girls embaresment, her knowing,I know, type of thing, You are right shouting goes no where,and from the start of the conversation I stressed that I was not accusing her, and that is I think she understood, and why she was very helpfull.
I realy dont think it is right that managment put people in this position where they have to tell blatent lies, and hope that we are soft enough to take any crap thrown at us, it goes to show though that if you hit back it sometimes pays off.

I have worked in Customer Services although not for a travel company. We were also told to tell blatent lies aswell. It's totaly wrong.

Up-date to my original post
Have recieved new E tickets guess what -- they are the identical ticket numbers as what we had cancelled, surprise, surprise!!!
The "Airplane fairy" must have got her mate the "Ticket fairy" to help out here.

I think fairies are wonderful creatures Had a problem a few years ago and refused to have my flight time changed by 10 hours and surprise surprise a little fairy popped out and waved her magic wand and I was back on schedule

One way, Dalaman back to Manchester, Onur 379 for, £240, plus late booking fee £10.
£240 for a flight that I paid £49 with their early booking discount, 12 months ago , 5 times more !!! NO wonder they wanted me off it.

Just brought this up for Dotty in regard to flight alterations last year. It was an eye opener to say the least, and I hope it can help others.

Thanks for that Peli, I'll let you know how I get on when I phone, but looking at their website and the flights don't come up when I search.
