Where to stay with mum?

Postby pas62 » 13 Apr 2009 07:26

Hi, :D
I'm looking to visit Icmeler in july and bring my wife/daughter and friend and mother who is 82 years young.Could anyone recommend/advise on suitable places to stay with good access for elderly.I have been to Icmeler a few times and know that it's flat in town (compared to Kalkan, where we usually go!)
thanks in advance

hi the pension ida in the main square ,has good access for old people, also wheel chairs etc. ground level bedrooms also ,and very good people to look after you ,good food as well. holiday company is swedish co. but lots of english use this hotel ,i,ve stayed there ,and always drink there. its just across the road from ICR office. also the alinda hotel has level access and a good lift, the juniper hotel has a ramp for older people and wheel chairs and a lift, siesta hotel the same. apartment wise ,the imperial apts has ground floor apts. hope i,ve been of some help. but ICR must know more. ttfn bill atkinson

I'd recommend the Bonjour too, they have rooms on the ground floor level with balconies looking on to the pool area. Rooms are comfortable and spacious and in the room my parents had last year they had a shower over a bath, and the bath was shaped with a seat built in one end - perfect for the young at heart and I should think this is standard in all rooms.

Location wise the Bonjour is perfect. The restaurant is very good and you're only just around the corner from the Magic Garden and two doors down from the Lighthouse both of which your mum would probably love - and it's all on the flat!

As well as the usual hotel rooms the Bonjour has a couple of large apartments - might be something worth enquiring about with ICR (they were very spacious and came with washing machine!)
