Postby toto » 28 Sep 2008 20:29

O.K. filthy habit i know  So, we now know where to go for chuff at Dalaman, but does anybody know anywhere else in Manchester other than nipping back out once you've checked bags in, it says no smoking but plenty of airport staff there chuffing away :!: Just wondered if there was anywhere else :?:

No, Sorry there is nowhere. Even with a 9 hour delay last year, the best the security staff could offer was being locked out on the tarmac for 3 hours with a 2 and 5 year old! We did not take them up on this offer but about 30 of us sorted it out ourselves

hmmmm much as I get desparate for a quick fix Slats, don't think I'll be trying that (even though it's presumably in the gents ha ha)
knowing my luck I'd get caught, fined and thrown out of the airport
think I'll stick to Nicorette and leaving it as late as possible to go to Departures

Smoking at Dalaman

Postby Janice » 29 Sep 2008 20:06

Hi Everyone

Dalaman is now a completely non smoking airport too. We have been to Icmeler 3 times this year, first time was May when you could still smoke in the cafe area, by the time we returned at the end of June it was completely non smoking. We have just returned again on the 10 September, and after checking in and going past security, my hubby decided he needed a ciggie, he had to go back through security, then outside the terminal building, then he had to rejoin the queue and check back through security again - thats the only way you can have a ciggie now. Hope this helps.

I agree with Janice, you need to go outside again, just don't go airside until an hour before your flight, there are no seats anyway so it doesn't make any difference.

Dave

p.s If you are flying Onur air the duty free is cheaper on the plane than at Dalaman. August £24 for 400 Silkcut on the plane, Dalaman wanted about £19 for 200

Just flown back from Malaga and after staying outside until an hour before our flight when we did go thru lo and behold there was a smoking area in the airport.

We flew back from Alicante in April. There were no smoking signs all over Airport. got to a certain part still had no smoking signs up but everyone seemed to be smoking there even 2 police officers, so I thought if they can do it so can I.

Yes we did the same thing 2 years ago but don't tell the non smokers give them something else to moan about.
