It was on a program last night, that when they tested airport scales at Gatwick and 20% of them were not callobrated properly and were showing things heavier than they actually are. I'm sure this applies to other airports aswell, and we'd prob never know.

I suppose its swings and roundabouts, we were 2 kgs over and i had to pay £12 and that was with heavy stuff in my pockets! My son also got stopped going through the xray machine, prob cos he had all the electrical stuff in his bag,the girl wouldnt let me go near near him and stood with her hand on her gun, which flustered him to say the least, anyway he left a ds lite behind which would you believe wasnt there 5 mins later. Toothbrush and 2 bikinis next year for me! :D

Just returned from Icmeler this morning and the rep on our coach home said the airport is now charging £7.50 a kilo over your allowance  We knew we werent over as we has a 20 kilo allowance as we flew with F.C I was a bit worried as I remembered the old airport scales a couple of years ago where you couldnt see the weight when you put the case on but now they have the modern scales similar to the ones at Gatwick where it shows up as soon as you put the case on. We actually put 2 cases on together and it showed the total weight.

My mate is a market trader and he got done by trading standards the once bcause of his scales not being calibrated correctly, happens a lot on markets. Can you ever see that happening at airports. The small man never wins.
