Just got back today... It's definitely being redone, but it's under new ownership so no-one we spoke to really knew what to expect.

The good news, though, is that Murfit couldn't wait for them to finish the work, so is singing/playing at the Riverside bar close to the Joy (a.k.a. Munumar) Hotel.

Hope this helps...

- Paul.

(P.S. Proper review to follow on another thread -- promise :) )

Thanks Paul, the Bamboo won't be the same without Murfit though (or whatever the new bar will be called)

Colette - there may still be hope... when we spoke to him during the week he certainly hadn't ruled out going back. He just couldn't wait indefinitely for them to open.

And good to hear there'll be a bar back there soon. I guess we'll find out what it's like when we're back in August -- only been back a day and already can't wait 8)

Bamboo Bar

Postby Barbara » 27 Jun 2008 15:48

Hi

Just got back from Icmeler and the Bamboo Bar is now being run by Fevzi and Semsi Ileri.
10 years ago they used to run the Three Bells, then they moved to harmony in 2000, and then moved to Villa Sol in Marmaris.
I think they have only just opened so I imagine there will be changes there once they get settled

I returned from Icmeler on Sunday and 1 day last week i was just walking along the beach front when i heard someone calling out my name from inside the bamboo, to my surprise it was Idris Ileri, i didnt know they were opening up a new bar in Icmeler but its good that they have. We have known them since they owned the Three Bells (now Dream 3Bells) 11 years ago. We will definitly be returning to see them again when we go back in august and more of the family will be there then which will be nice.

Semsi did say they only opened up a few weeks ago.

Update on Bamboo Restaurant

Postby helen2904 » 27 Jun 2008 21:23

Hi I'm new to the forum, but have been following it for a very long time. I think its absolutely great.Thought I would update you with the latest on the Bamboo Restaurant. As one of your members has previously mentioned the new owner of the Bamboo Restaurant is Fevzi Ileri. He became one of our friends back in 1995 when we visted Marmaris for the first time when he was working at the Brothers Restaurant. However, him and his family soon became part of our family and we are still visiting 13 years down the line and think of all the family as our own.

I spoke to Fevzi last week and the restaurant had only been opened a few days, so it is early days yet. I called him again tonight and he told me that he is keeping the name Bamboo Restaurant. Hopefully the family will have a good season and attract many customers to their new restaurant. Its nice to see new bars/restaurants opening up in Icmeler. I would like to send all bars/restaurants my best wishes for the forthcoming season.

My family will descend on Paradise on the 1st August for four weeks, can't wait!!!!!!!! If I hear any more about Bamboo I will keep you informed.

We were in the Bamboo the week before last and it is exactly the same. Murphit is still there singing away. I can't speak for the restaurant as we did not eat there.
