Just a word of warning if anyone uses the Airparks Gold car park at Manchester or anywhere around the country.
I picked my car up at 3:15 am Saturday morning and all looked ok in the dark so got it home and went to bed.
I looked out of the window when I woke up to see deep scratches and a dinge in the roof so I called airparks gold and they told me I had to call customer services this morning to which I did.
They told me that it was tough luck and there was nothing that they or I could do about it as I should have reported the damage at 3:15 am Saturday morning and even though I explained it was a Shogun and the only way I could see the roof was to be 7 foot tall or look out of my window in the light the next morning they were having none of it.
There were no height restriction barriers on the site so the only way that this could have happened is for one of the staff to have taken this out of the site and tried to get under one elsewhere.
Beware all car parks, read the very small print and most of all if you have a SHogun take a ladder to check for damage

I think you will find almost all of the carparks that you are leaving your car at you leave at your own risk, and there will be signs up somewhere telling you this. I have heard stories about these kind of things before, and a friend of mine was convinced his car had been used for a runabout, when i collected mine the battery had been disconnected for some reason. But we have little alternative unless you want to pay a fortune for taxi,s

We have previously left our car at airport car parks but also suspsected that at one our car had been driven whilst we were away. Since then we always get our friends/relatives to take us (we live about 45 minutes from either Birmingham or East Midlands) and we always by them something nice from the duty free or take them out for a meal to say thank you. Di.

Thanks for the warning I was considering using them this year as I left my car on the drive last year and had the back windscreen smashed.

That's shocking admin. Typical of some companies they take your money and what ever else happens after that, well they don't care.
You should of told them you own a travel company and a travel forum, and you will warn all of your customers never to use them ever.

A friend of ours left his car at one of those 'keys and do as ya please' car parks. on his return the backseat was covered in orange peel and dog hairs....neither was there when he left.

don't forget Holiday Truth too
sorry to hear about what happened - is it in the small print that you've to mention damage at the time?? failing that, what about Trading Standards??

We only leave ours if it's one we can park up and leave it there - ie no handing our keys over to anyone - there is that option but we'd rather pay a bit more and keep our keys and know where our car is - we've seen too many horror stories on Watchdog.
We also found it cheaper booking direct with the airport (EMA) and you can park up within walking distance of the terminal too.
Costs us £60 for a fortnight.

a friend of ours left his keys and his car was used he got a speeding ticket while he was in turkey, we leave ours in the Shuttle Park at Manchester airport it cost £60 for 2 weeks but you take the keys with you and the bus comes round every 10 minutes it's just behind terminal 3

Lets hope they suffer some loss of business through it. But I wouldn't let it lie there. If they are using their small print, then I am sure it doesn't state in the small print that they can use your car without your consent.

Most Airport
transfer companies would be cheaper if you can find one in your area around Liverpool and Districts I know a couple of reliable Airport transfer companies.
