belly dancing

07 Jan 2007 16:08

I've just read an article in the Sunday magazine about belly dancing being a very good form of excersise for both young and old. It's supposed to tone up your body brilliantly and you enjoy it at the same time. :D I wondered if anybody had been to a class and is it difficult for us westerners to do.
I have danced in Marmaris with some Turkish ladies and they applauded me but I think they were being kind to me!
Any feedback would be appreciated :?

My mum did this as an exercise class, her teacher was lebanese, not turkish, but im sure same principle! She said VERY difficult to learn. The teacher said hard for most westerners to get used to the movements and that they all learn from babies - well you know what i mean....! ive bought the dvd to give it a try as no classed near where i live.... apparently tones from well inside the body.
