Opened our HSBC bank account yesterday, ready to start saving the precious holiday pennies! Its getting nearer!

i opened a nationwide one on thursday they dont charge anything to use any amt machines anywere in the world :)

Neither do HSBC thats why weve opened one with them, just have to make sure i keep my bank card safe while over there! no more nights out now, save, save, save the next time we will be out we will be sat with an efes watching the sun set!!!

double check with your bank. i did search on hsbc on this fourm thats why i went with the nationwide

hmm i looked on the forum too thats why i decided to open one with them as usually take just cash, they did say i won't get charged for taking money out abroad when i opened the account... i hope they are right!

HSBC do charge We just come back costs £2.43 each transaction when you withdraw cash from machines
Premier accounts do not have to pay charges Ok

If you only opened a normal hsbc bank account you will be charged min 1.75 per withdrawal, however if you opened a bank account plus with them your withdrawals will be free, so will your travel insurance!!! I work for them :cry:

i bank with first direct part of hsbc and had free cash withdrawls last year at the hsbc cash machine in the centre

yeah I opened a nationwide account 2 years ago and always transfer my money into there for my holidays, never had any problems with it

We change up in bars and supermarkets

I was charged one year for using my Halifax card to get money out. Also HSBC charged us £3 for taking out £200 over there, even from a HSBC account. I dont understand that though, HSBC have got banks over there so dont see why they should charge for taking money out.
