Rhodes overnight?

Postby arinsal » 03 Apr 2008 20:39

I can see that ICR do a day trip to Rhodes. But was wondering about staying overnight or for two nights. I have been to Rhodes a few times and thought I might take a trip, but did not fancy a return the same day after a few drinks. Does anyone have any suggestions about a good place to stay. Maybe ICR do this and I just do not know about it. Sorry in advance if this topic has been covered before

If you are going to Rhodes old town, be prepared to get fleeced. Sat down in a cafe, asked for 3 cokes and a lager - came to about £32.00. The guy went ballistic when I asked to see a pricelist after the bill had came. The restaurants owners actually argue over customers and try to stop you going into their competitors restaurants.

The people running the buses weren't helpful either when we asked which bus went to the resort we were staying at. Asked 4 different people and they all sneered and walked away.

We were glad to get back to our resort and didn't venture away from the hotel for the rest of the holiday - wouldn't go back if it was for free

There may be nice area's on Rhodes but the old town is not one of them.

We done the Rhodes day trip on our first visit to Icmeler and we had a lovely time although didn't want to stray too far away incase we missed the boat back to Marmaris. We did notice the difference in price as it was the first year they were using the Euro and not the drachma.

Would definately do it again but would try and venture a bit further than Rhodes town.
