Working visas

Does anyone know if it just does take the 2months mfor your working visa to come back??
Me and my friend both have jobs set up out there for next year and my friend goes back in october to get the letters for proof of job offer then were sending off to the consulate, has anyone applied and failed ??or know how easy it is or hard to get the visa, as we been recommened to apply for residency aswell?/ .

Any info how little or small would be great
