Well they don't have the poorest record for safety in Europe for no reason!

ok thats enough folks, were scare mongering here and it's got to stop.

You can discuss the airline's food, lack of entertainment etc, but I will NOT have all these discussions on how bad they are at safety etc, for the sake of people still yet to fly with them.

Lets get back to topic or I will lock this thread.

Well said Collette. i'm sure the aviation governing body wouldn't let the airline continue if safety wasn't assured. Maybe people who want to complain or raise concerns can do it in the right place - go to Onur Air website. For anyone who's worried following the thread, there's also recommendations on the site too..but don't let it spoil your holiday vibe.

Hey, I knew their record before I flew with them in May...and had a great flight, absolutely no complaints at all! The flights were first class, and better than some flights I've been on...even more recently with Ryanair to Dublin!

Obviously i didnt tell the wife who is petrified of flying about the info I found on them after a short search on Google or Wikipedia!

But as said, I found them great and would fly with them again despite what I know!

Postby dodge » 26 Aug 2007 12:15

hi all
we flew with them for 1st time this year and we had no problems whatsoever we had a 2 hour delay going out but that was down to manchester airport computers going down and people could'nt check in,the food was no worse or no better than other airlines,so much so we have booked to go with them next year but they have told us no meals on flights next year so we can just take a few things ourselves

hope this helps
cheers dodge

20 kg per person is completly correct.
East Midland on the way out. Me the wife and the little un had 44 between us in 2 cases. There were another 14 though of us in the party and the weight was well over (cost about £90 which three families split between them)
on the way back we were under but they didnt really seem to care.

OnurAir are fine - they leg room is ok and better than most economy airlines. the food is basic but hey its a cheap flight.
The only complaint i had was that we had a four and half hour dleay and was not really told why - somthing was mumbled about Brussells by the flight crew but that was it.
Make sure you take something to eat /drink on the way home for the chance that you get delayed in the airport. Ive got to sat that its the most expensive airport i have ever been to. 10lira for a can of Effes which in town cost 1 lira. Happy meal for the little one for about £9.00

Anyway happy holidays

Onur Air isn't the only airline to have difficulties mid air.

I think it's also fair to say you are safer in an aeroplane than in a car.

We returned from icmeler with Onur Air yesterday and i have to say we had no problems at all i even asked for extra leg room seats and was allocated both going and coming back,ok the food is basic the seats a little worn but thats not much of a problem. On the way back seemed to be a lot of turbulence but again we could live with it,all in all Onur Air flight from Cardiff and back was ok

I flew with Onur Air last month. The baggage allowance was 20kg but mine was 25kg and they didn't bat an eyelid.
