I've been going to Icmeler for years, so I know what to expect! but I was really ripped off at the hairdressers in July and also in the underground market, buying towels!!
I knew I was being ripped off, so I should have argued or walked away, but I never, because I must be a woos!, but I wont ever go to that hairdressers again, and I'll tell all my friends, acquaintances not to go there and , where NOT to buy their towels, I think that this will be a better revenge.

Excellent Hairdressers i think it was called, thats the one wer the guy totally irritated me for 2 weeks with his persistant hassling. And i had been warned about the prices in there that's why i avoided the place.

Hi all!
I went to the same "excellent hairdressers" when I was there in august. Was getting my hair done with my friend on the day of her wedding. I found the experience stressful to say the least. I had asked for a full colour, highlights, cut and blow dry. Was told I could also get my hair put up as part of the price. Both colours were different from what I had picked. The highlights turned out different colours on different areas of my head, weird as it all came from 1 bowl. He "ran out of time" to put my hair up, so I asked for it to be blow dryed straight. 20 mins after leaving the hairdressers I had developed a full on afro!
I have to say that although the price was cheaper than back home, the value for money was non-existant. My boyfriend also had a turkish shave but they cut his throat (just the skin obviously!) lots of times.
We were paying them a lot of money as 5 of us had treatments within 2 days. I was very disappointed, especially as I then had to patch my other halfs neck and straighten my hair again, in the 30mins I had before the wedding! Stresssssssssful!!!!

I wish I had gone to Sebastiens as other icr forum members had recommended!

As for buying things in icmeler I was disappointed. I felt that there was no haggling to be had. I want to pay a fair price for a product, and the turkish people to have to earn a living. However I will not pay uk prices for poor quality items. I have to say that this is totally different to tunisia. I came home with virtually nothing. Shame but they are doing themselves out of business!

Yes the same hairdressers must have seen my husband coming last year as he was also ripped off by them. We went to Icmeler again this year and as we went passed he tried to hassle us. My husband just looked at him and walked on. He did have a full shave whilst there with another hairdressers and asked the price first. Once bitten twice shy so they say.

be realistic

Was in Altinkum in June and the prices they were asking for were a joke, went to buy a copy shirt and they wanted £15 for it just walked out, went to the weekly market and the prices were similar,my wife and daughter picked 3 purses up they wanted, I picked a wallet,£60 he wanted told him he was joking and put them down, and walked away came after us and said he would have to ask the boss, this other guy came over and said £40 and he was robbing himself just started walking away he said ok £20 which we finally paid because my wife and daughter wanted them but still think I could have gotten them cheaper if I had pushed as for paying £25 for counterfeit jeans you must be mad they could buy them here from Asda for £3 and put any label they want on them that is all it is a label, the shopkeepers have got to see sense or lose all there business,I will be looking at what I buy in Turkey in future if anything.

We have been to Icmeler 14 times and have been in the Excellence salon quite a bit but in June hubby went in just for shave ended up having haircut (which had been done 2 days before going out) and silly face pack massage and then they started threading his eyebrows wanted to put lines in them I went mad and stopped them he is 54 for gods sake. I said I would have my nails done but nothing else I sat down and she started manicure next thing they are trying to put my feet in spa thing so I got up and said I was having nothing done next thing they are all sorry and took it away its hard to be firm but you want one thing done they should respect that.
